授業の目標 Course Objectives
The goal of this class is to understand the fundamental discipline in the microbiology (cellular function, metabolism, growth and
control), the current knowledge of microbial ecology (terrestrial and aquatic environments), and the applications of
microbiological concepts to the fields of environmental biotechnology (i.e., water and wastewater treatment processes and
bioremediation processes for soil and ground water contamination).

This course is designed to extend the knowledge of environmental engineering students in the biological science. It covers a
broad range of aspects in related to environmental microbiology and biotechnology. These include the fundamental discipline in
the microbiology (cellular function, metabolism, growth and control), the current knowledge of microbial ecology (terrestrial
and aquatic environments), and the applications of microbiological concepts to the fields of environmental biotechnology (i.e.,
water and wastewater treatment processes and bioremediation processes for soil and ground water contamination).
