It covers a broad range of aspects in related to environmental microbiology and biotechnology. These include the fundamental discipline in the microbiology (cellular function, metabolism, growth and control), the current knowledge of microbial ecology (terrestrial and aquatic environments), and the applications of microbiological concepts to the fields of environmental biotechnology (i.e., water and wastewater treatment processes and bioremediation processes for soil and ground water contamination). 授業計画 Course Schedule (1) 1-1 1-2 1-3 1-4 1-5 (2) 2-1 2-2 (3) 3-1 3-2 (4) 4-1 4-2 4-3 4-4 (5) 5-1 5-2 5-3 (6) 6-1 6-2 Introduction to microbiology Diversity within the microbial world Cellular structures and functions of prokaryotes Microbial nutrition Microbial metabolism, growth and control Bioenergetics Analytical tools Conventional culture-dependent techniques Molecular based techniques (culture-independent techniques) Biogeochemical cycles Oxidation/reduction states, Responsible microbial activities involved in the biogeochemical cycling of major chemical elements in the natural environments.
