Transport from Hotel du Nord will leave at 8.40. 9.00 – 9.15 Opening remarks (Emilia Wiechec) 9.15 – 9.30 Course participants introduce themselves. 9.30 - 10.15 “Flow cytometry – how it works, and how is it done; brief overview of other equipment.” (Marek Los) 10.15 – 10.30 coffee break and informal discussions 10.30 – 11.15 “Laser-Scanning Cytometry, theoretical considerations, and examples of practical applications – a perspective of an end-user” (Dr. Jerzy Grabarek, Univ. Szczecin, Poland – longterm user of LSC) 11.15 – 11.30 coffee break 11.30 – 12.00 Demonstration of configurations of iCys and Gallios cytometry (Grabarek, Wiechec, Jain) equipment, and opportunity to book time with Dr. Grabarek for individual exercises on iCys. 12.00 – 13.00 lunch break LOCATION: Library of the core facility. 13.00 – 13.30 Lecture highlighting the capabilities of CyTOF2 (Mass-spectrometry cytometry) 13.30 – 14.00 Presentation and demo of the capabilities of CyTOF2 in groups of 3-4 students 14.00 – 17.00 Practical training on iCys – data acquisition and analysis of cell samples brought by individual participants. Course-participants will have the opportunity to have their sample analyzed by an expert in iCys-cell cytometry. In parallel, practical training on advanced Fluorescence microscope, – data acquisition and analysis of cell samples brought by individual participants, under guidance of Dr. Cieślar-Pobuda. Jain. 10.00 – 12.00 Practical training on iCys for selected participants – data acquisition and analysis of cell samples brought by individual participants. Course-participants will have the opportunity to have their sample analyzed by an expert in iCys-cell cytometry. Day V, Friday: 31.07.2015 9.00 – 16.00 Practical training on iCys, – data acquisition and analysis of cell samples brought by individual participants, under guidance of Dr. Grabarek. In parallel, practical training on advanced Fluorescence microscope, – data acquisition and analysis of cell samples brought by individual participants, under guidance of Dr. Cieślar-Pobuda. 17.00 Closing & Farewell ceremony with handing-out course attendance certificates, followed by “get together” (french-fries, assorted pizzas, kebab, other southern dishes, and drinks will be available). For those who want to leave earlier (or for local participants), course attendance certificates could be obtained earlier, as long as participant received an individual practical training on at least one of the instruments.
