Flow Cytometry Specialist

Operations

Full Time Employee

Work as a flow cytometry technologist in a laboratory or medical service environment where candidate directly carries out activities as specified by the standard operating procedure at Applied Diagnostics, and where sufficient personal responsibility and teamwork can be demonstrated.

Undergraduate degree preferred, and specific certification as required.

Applied Diagnostics Flow Cytometry Supervisor

The flow cytometry specialist will prepare patient specimens that are received by Applied Diagnostics for flow cytometry analysis. Individuals are expected to learn the protocols needed in the preparation of samples.

This includes having sufficient familiarity in order to aid in troubleshooting. Individuals must undergo additional training and achieve certifications (where possible) as required by the lab. Continuing education opportunities serve to maintain skills and garner certifications to continue the high level of performance expected by the policies and procedures provided by Applied Diagnostics.

Operations includes all technical work done in the lab in preparation for pathologists to review the work product (slides, images, readings etc) and the rendering of the final report. It also includes logistics, software management, and all other activities required to run the business but not including commercial, medical or administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technologist for flow cytometry testing including preparation of specimens, testing and

1 reporting results according to ADx manual.

Aides in the validating of technologies for flow cytometry brought in-house by Applied

Diagnostics. This includes:

Receipt and review of information to set-up tests including information about equipment, supplies, general processes and other essentials.

Actual setup and performance of tests including o Documentation of processes and procedures o Documentation of alterations to processes and procedures which were reasonably deemed appropriate for the test, but for whichever reasons needed to be altered.

Assembly of final manual for said test

Updates to that manual as needed based on improvements to the process and/or equipment over time.

Collaboration with other members of the Applied Diagnostics Operations, Commercial,

Medical and/or Administration divisions on various projects and simple tasks.

Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel including charts, graphs, tables; and MS Outlook for e-mail, calendars, tasks.

Limited travel: <5% overnight travel, usually limited to training/certification events
