Director Volunteer Opportunities Reinbows offers a wide variety of opportunities for volunteering such as helping with; programs, events, senior citizen visits, crafts, office duties, grounds maintenance, and the horses! Visit reinbowsinc.org & click on the “Get Involved” tab for more information. Thank you! Rellie: New Horse! Our 6th Fjord, Rellie was born in Norway, and came to us from Canada this February. She's 17 years old, and is a beautiful, talented horse. We can already see that she considers herself to be the Queen of the Horses. “Bully Proof” Seminars – Scheduled throughout the Spring & Summer! In these NEW school & community seminars our horses will teach families how to handle issues such as bullying, anger management, healthy choices, self-esteem, and conflict resolution. Life-Skills & Horses – Ages 8-11: 10am-12pm, Mon. & Tues., June 2-June 24. Ages 12-15: 10am-12pm, Wed. & Thurs., June 4-June 26. This program teaches kids how to succeed and feel good about themselves. Carpentry, crafts, making healthy food, and rocket launching are some of the fun activities that complement the horse time! Cost: $200.00. Summer Horse Camp – Ages 8-12: 9am-1pm, Mon.-Friday, July 7-July 11... Anyone who loves horses, wants to ride and have fun should attend! Cost: $250.00. Women, Health, & Horses – Date to be announced! Led by Dr. Mary Olson, this one-day seminar will cover topics on how to live a healthy lifestyle. Each session includes group time, crafts & horse time! The girls are having a great time with Jodi Johnson from Greater Minnesota instructing the class! Reinbows Reads! Paving a New Way in Our Indoor Arena! As the ground begins to thaw, we are getting excited to complete renovations in our indoor area to add handicapped friendly pavers! These pavers will allow guests and participants easier access to all of our activities in the arena. This is a big step for Reinbows’ next endeavor of offering individuals with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy our programming with the horses! Reinbows’ participants benefit from all the healthy food and fun activities provided by The Local Acre! The kids enjoy watching the garden grow and have fun planting their own flowers in a number of our programs. Soon, the whole community will have a chance to enjoy some fresh produce from The Local Acre, when the Farmers’ Market begins in June! Alida wonders…“Was this really a fence?” She’s glad the snow is gone now and spring is here! Growing and getting ready for your table! What a fun way to learn at Reinbows Reads! Reinbows Reads is an afterschool-tutoring program, which, meets twice a week at the Windom Area High School Media Center. Students are provided a welcoming environment, supportive volunteer tutors, and a snack at each session. Reinbows’ Reward Points are earned for attendance, bringing homework, reading 20 minutes, and good behavior. These points are then used towards horse activities, which are held at the Reinbows’ Barn! This is made possible in part by a generous donation from Maxine Walen and the help of many volunteers, Thank you!
