VOLUNTEERS - THE CSC LIFELINE
Where would we be without YOU?

Our magnificent and fantastic volunteers?

Breaking news: Peter Lehman (formerly Chair People Resources) will be the new
webmaster, replacing Al Pease. Thank you thank you Al for your many years of
service and Peter for your work in making CSC processes work more smoothly.
Thanks also to Peter Triolo, who coordinated the recent catalogue mailing (in yet
another winter storm) for Kay Liss, the current coordinator, as she had to be out of
town. Also thank you Harold Wiley and Betsy Barnard who have done the bulk
mailing forever (or least it may seem so to them), rain or shine, and always bringing
it down to Thomaston for us. They are invaluable.

VOLUNTEERS - OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
Here are some additional volunteer opportunities that are not only worthwhile to us,
you might obtain some additional skills or meet new people! Whichever, we need
your help.
CATALOG PREPARATION
David Bailey, our inestimable catalogue preparer for the past 12 years, is looking for
someone to work with him for sharing of or taking over the task of catalogue creation.
Because computer skills are required, David is willing to teach you all the skills you
need to create our CSC Catalog in the comfort of his home in Newcastle. This is one of
the vital jobs of CSC - it’s how you find out what courses are being offered in addition
to wonderful features about our instructors for instance.
David has been using Adobe InDesign© to create the newsletter. You can easily learn
the basics if you have ever used a word processing program, can cut and paste in a
document, or if you’re familiar with software to convert photos to black and white.
Adobe InDesign© also allows you to summon your inner creativity in producing layout
(such as I try to dowith Microsoft Publishing layout). If you’re interested please
contact David at 563-2105.
SITE COORDINATION - KNOX COUNTY
The Curriculum Committee is seeking a person to be the liaison between CSC and our
sites in Knox County. The coordinator insures that instructors are familiar with the
space they will be using in the various facilities and that the site lenders are properly
thanked for their generosity. Contact BJ Fredericks at 563-1449 or Beth Vetter at
549-7381.
