VOLUNTEERS - OUR CSC LIFELINE
Here are some additional volunteer opportunities that are not only worthwhile to us,
you might obtain some additional skills or meet new people! Whichever, we need
your help.
CATALOG PREPARATION
Thank you Ed Knapp for volunteering to help David Bailey on the CSC Catalog.
SITE COORDINATION - KNOX COUNTY
The Curriculum Committee is seeking a person to be the liaison between CSC and our
sites in Knox County. The coordinator insures that instructors are familiar with the
space they will be using in the various facilities and that the site lenders are properly
thanked for their generosity. Contact BJ Fredericks at 563-1449 or Beth Vetter at

WILD BIRDS - UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL
May 20 2 pm
UROCK Suite 402
Wind Over Wings, a non-profit group based in Dresden, ME,
will provide us an opportunity to see 4 wild birds that are
indigenous to Maine. These birds, Golden Eagle (right), the
Red-Tailed Hawk, the Raven and the Northern Saw-whet Owl
(below) were rescued after injuries in the wild and despite
veterinary care, could not survive back in their normal
environment. The State of Maine has given permission to have
them used in educational programs such as this one.

will also be a cash bar.
Following lunch, MARNIE SINCLAIR, will present an intriguing informative and
entertaining talk involving art and serious climate science. Her exhibit “Making Sense
of Climate Change Through Art” was presented at Skidompha Library this past
January. Paul Kando, CSC Board Member and one of our own lecturers, has heard one
of her impressive presentations and recommends her highly. Some of her art pieces
as well as some free-standing sculpture will also be on display.
We can look forward to another educational and entertaining speaker, not to mention a
