Goals
Our present goals are to achieve the IMA Gold Award of
Excellence and to continue to increase membership in the
club. We are working with our IMA representative and our
faculty advisor to meet and surpass the requirements to
achieve this award. We plan to set requirements to get
more members involved in ICAA events. We hope that the
common programming with the ASC will help to resolve
scheduling conflicts and thereby increase participation. The
Accounting Association provides a vehicle for motivated
students to:
 Form relationships with professionals in the
field of accounting
 Business curriculum, and
 Improve the community through service
activities
Mission
The Ithaca College Accounting Association is available to
provide a forum of high quality programs and activities
aimed at creating a bridge between the college
environment and the real word that promotes professional
and personal growth of members.

Advisor’s Corner
Let’s consider ICAA’s mission as a challenge to each
of you:
To provide a forum of high quality programs and
activities aimed at creating a bridge between the
college environment and the real world that promotes
professional and personal growth of members.
Over the years, ICAA has earned the highest
recognition from the Institute of Management
Accountants for its exceptional efforts at fulfilling its
mission. In fact, in 2007 and 2008, the Ithaca College
student chapter earned the Gold Award of Excellence.
I am excited that the current executive board is
committed to sustain that streak of excellence, while
improving on its efforts.
But to be successful, it will require the active participation
and interest of every member. That’s where you come in.
I challenge each of you to develop a new idea for “creating
a bridge” and then taking on a leadership role to see it to
success.
Consider what can be done to make the student
organization more accessible for freshmen and
sophomores:
 Is there a social activity that would be a fun bridge
between the under- and upper-class students?
 Is there a program and/or speaker that would help
