Your task this week is to complete your Technology Use Plan PowerPoint Presentation outlining the required components for a technology use plan and providing concrete examples of plan components as well as a proactive approach to completing the plan. Remember, you are the leader in this process, so lead the charge! Planning Team – who should be a part of the team and planning process? Process Description – what are the steps in developing a technology use plan? Vision Statement – provide a sample vision statement – your planning team will be able to start with this sample and build on it. Plan Goals/Objectives – provide sample goals and objectives - You would want to include maintenance and support issues, curriculum integration, the need for staff development, addressing district, state and national technology standards, etc.) Needs Assessment - What needs should be addressed in the assessment instrument? Provide a list of the general areas to be assessed. Attach a copy of your needs assessment. Staff Development - Provide some suggestions for staff development as this will be such a crucial element in the plan - and one that you, as the educational technologist will spearhead. Evaluation/Research - Suggest how you would evaluate the plan - how will that be structured? Will there be a research component? Timeline- Provide a timeline for the development and implementation of the plan. Audio component - Include audio for each of your slides - I know they will be short, and that you would add more if you were giving this presentation in person, but it will add to my (and other’s) understanding. Slide Design/Legibility – The slides should look professional and easy to read. Third Organize and send your PowerPoint presentation Create a folder titled, Yourlastname Tech Use Plan, i.e. Copy your PowerPoint presentation and your needs assessment instrument into this folder. Link the needs assessment to your slide covering needs assessment. Go to Windows Explorer – right-click on the start button – select explore. Locate your tech use plan folder where you have already placed your presentation and needs assessment instrument (linked in folder).
