Introduction to Business: Chapter 20 Folder Assignment Sheet.
INSURANCE = pts.
From the front of room, pick up a piece of construction paper and fold it in half. This will serve as
the cover of your folder. On the front cover, put your name and Unit number along with a Business
Related Picture. Put all work in your folder in the order assigned. Please feel free to use a computer
if you want to. Use a separate piece of paper for each Area listed below.
 15pts - Area 1 How You Benefit
(Use a word processor or write on piece of folder paper for this area.)
o Life Span Activities. Refer to pg XXV. Do the activity that is for pg 517 and 524.
o Read pages 508 – 539 ……What do you feel is this chapter’s most important concept?
 15 pts - Area 2 Developing your Business Language (Can you Talk the Talk?)
o Match the terms listed with the definitions. You can use numbers or you can write down
the definitions and use them on the test, pg 537.
 15pts. - Area 3 Chapter 20 Assessment

o Making Academic Connections --- #30 (Assigned Fault Insurance)
 20 pts - Area 4 Insurance as a Career. One of the biggest employers of people in District87
is State Farm Insurance. Using the Internet and class notes, define what the following is the
main responsibilites for each of the insurance job areas listed below:
o Underwriter
o Claims
o Agent
o Acutarial
 10pts Area 5 Internet. Find and list the url’s of three web sites that show important
information about Insurance. Website: www.insurance.com
 40pts Area 6 Insurance PowerPoint. Insurance is all about protecting one from Risk.
Create a 4 slide PowerPoint. On the first slide, give your name, class hour and insurance. On
slides 2-5 select a picture like on my PowerPoint for the notes. List the type of insurance that
it would fall under (auto, home, life, health) and the coverage(s) in that insurance area that
cover the risk in the picture. You must have at least one for each kind of risk. Hand in the
HANDOUT VIEW. Example:

50pts - Insurance analysis packet ( yellow) – with a partner – work to complete the answers
in the review packet, check them in class and include them in your folder.
Make sure you LABEL all work. Put work IN ORDER and put in Black Tray. (-20pts).
