Reflection from Father Hilary.
Passing the Buck
No doubt you know people who are expert at passing the buck! Perhaps you have a go yourself sometimes like me?
God forgive me! Then there are the kind of people who let you down and you say “I’ll do it myself”! Yes, I know, I
know. Now here’s quotation below to put you thinking and when you’ve worked it out let me know because my poor
minds gets all bogged down in it!
There were once four people;
Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done, and Everybody thought
that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did. Somebody got angry about that
because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it. But Nobody realised that Everybody
would not do it. It ended up with Everybody blaming Somebody and Nobody doing what Anybody could have
done!

On holiday or away from Northfields?
You can always keep up with what is happening in the parish. The
newsletter is posted each week on the website: http://parish.rcdow.org.uk/northfields/newsletters .
For Your Consideration….We hope to launch the following two ventures in the autumn:
1. Parish Drama group: initially to stage a selection of radio plays by Dorothy L. Sayers based on the gospels.
2. A revival of a social committee to take responsibility/oversee parish social events, such as refreshments at various
functions (e.g. Mass with anointing of the sick, Carol Service, after the Easter Vigil).
More information will be available in September. In the meantime, consider if you would like to be involved in one of
these ways.

interest in serving the parish in these ministries will be contacted in early September with details about training sessions.
