Sapulpa High School Bulletin for Wednesday, March 05, 2014 ACT - INDIAN ED ACT In APRIL The Sapulpa Indian Education JOM program has sign up for payment of the ACT test in the Indian Ed office. Students must be registered in J.O.M. and have taken an ACT Prep course this year. Sign up in Room W204 in the Woodlawn Annex. Deadline extended for Indian Ed now Friday, March 7th. 3PM. CENTRAL TECH APPLICATIONS Central Tech Applications are still being accepted. Please return applications to Mrs. Romine in Room 417. Applications are available in the attendance office. PENNIES FOR PASTA Students it’s Pennies for Pasta time again. The fourth hour class that raises the most money (class average) for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society wins a Pasta Party from Olive Garden. The class average is amount of money (which includes US coins or US paper monies) collected divided by number of students in the class. Second place will receive a pizza party. The monies will help with research but also individuals in need. The fundraiser will end on Wednesday, March 12th. We hope to announce the winners on Thursday, March 13th. NSU COLLEGE VISIT FOR JUNIORS and SENIORS Juniors AND Seniors, we are taking a college visit to NSU on March 6th. Space is limited to 200 students and you have to return your permission slip and be eligible to go. Sign up in the attendance office. TCC TCC is offering a free camp this summer to 10th and 11th graders interested in health careers. Pick up applications in the attendance office. OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPS Seniors, if you have recieved any outside scholarships, please get a copy of them to Mrs. Lawson in the attendance office. We keep a running list to turn in to the paper at the end of the year and this is very important for the counselors. DRIVER'S EDUCATION We are now taking sign-ups for Spring Driver's Ed. You must pay at sign up time, have passed your 8th grade reading test and be 15 years of age by the time classes start on March 10th. Forms are in the Junior and Senior High School Attendance offices. They must be returned to Mrs. Lawson in the Attendance office. There are only 30 slots open so first come, first serve. TU JUNIOR CONFERENCE TU is hosting a free conference this summer for any junior who is interested in pursuing a degree in research. See Mrs. Bilby for an application. YEARBOOKS This is your last chance to buy a yearbook for before prices go up! Yearbooks are 55$ until Wednesday. You can buy a yearbook from Mrs. Bethel at room 614 or from any yearbook staffer for 55$ SCIENCE CLUB FIELD TRIP Science club members interested in the Spring field trip Friday March 7th need to see Mr. Ostrander in room 617 as soon as possible to get trip details and permission slips. ALL SCHOOL MUSICAL Make plans now to attend the All-School Musical, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” presented next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 6, 7 & 8 at 7:30 each evening. It is presented by the Vocal Music, Drama and Band departments and promises to be a great show with lots of comedy and great songs! ACT DEADLINE Friday is the deadline to sign up for the April 12th ACT. Visit www.actstudent.org to register. Don't forget if you are a junior or senior on free or reduced lunch you get up to two free ACT's. See your counselor for more info. LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS If you filled out a local scholarship request sheet - please come pick your packet up in the Attendance office from Mrs. Lawson. They will not be sent to you. BOYS STATE Boy State applications are now available in the attendance office. This is an excellent leadership opportunity. Turn your application into Mrs. Bilby by March 14th.
