Following a lengthy discussion it was RESOLVED to
object to the industrialisation of a rural area
(there are better sites that could be used), the
increase in traffic of larger vehicles through the
village & the 7-day opening hours.

The decisions were read out.
A pre-application has been submitted for two x 3-storey dwellings in Mitchell on land which is
already elevated. RESOLVED: Clerk to advise that an application for a bungalow or dormer
style property would be preferable as it will be more in-keeping with the surrounding area.
A discussion took place regarding Cornwall Council’s decision to more to paperless planning. AM is
attending a meeting of the North Coast Cluster Group on 11th August which Edwina Hannaford and
Phil Mason will be attending. AM to advise that the website is not fit for purpose. NOTED.

Urgent Matters Requiring a Decision:
a) Trees in Mitchell Playground: Colin Hawke has devised a schedule of suggested works.
RESOLVED: Clerk to get quote for works. It was reported that there is a fallen tree in
Metha Woods. RESOLVED: AM to speak to landowner.
b) Ragwort in the Recreation Ground: The Clerk has received a letter from a member of the
Village Clean-Up Group advising that there is ragwort in the Recreation Ground which
needs clearing. RESOLVED: Clerk to contact the Probation Service and ask them to
undertake the works.
c) Report from Cubert Crossroads Meeting held on 3rd August: AM gave a report of the
meeting which was well attended. The pressure group will be delivering a petition to County
Hall on 6th August. The results of the feasibility study are expected at the end of
September. NOTED.
d) Trevilson Educational Fund: GB and CV gave a report of the recent meeting. Concern was
expressed about the treatment of the Pre-School. Representatives from Lappa Valley

attended the meeting and are looking for funding to rebuild the pumphouse. NOTED.

There being no further business, the Chairman thanked members for their attendance. He advised
that the next scheduled Full Council Meeting will take place on 14th September 2015 at
7.00pm in the Primary Room, St. Newlyn East Methodist Chapel. The meeting closed at
20.45pm
