THE SHOUT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD 2015 “Revere Our Planet” “Shout” is a one-day event to be held on Sunday, April 19th that invites citizens of all ages, faiths, nationalities and abilities to join together and "sound the alarm" about climate change. The power of this event will be found not only in the sheer number of participants/supporters, but in the breadth and depth of civic, religious, environmental, academic, and political leaders who attend. Held one day before the annual remembrance of Paul Revere's ride, “SHOUT” will offer localized events in the participating towns along the route that Paul Revere rode 240 years ago and culminate in a public rally at Minuteman National Park in Concord. Notably, this event is being roundly supported (if not triggered) by leaders within multiple, diverse faith groups, and thus presents a very public -- potentially very powerful -means to elevate the conversation about climate change to an ever-more personal, ethical level. The event is not, however, exclusive to faith communities. Event Overview 9:00 a.m. – A single rider carrying a SHOUT flag leaves Charlestown after a small ceremony (dedication) 9:30 – 12:00 – the rider stops at hosting churches along the way which will have organized activities with local conservation groups. Additional riders will join. Bells may be rung. 12:00 p.m. Riders (and walkers and other supporters) will gather at First Parish in Concord. Lunch will be served. Conservation groups will be invited to staff their own single card table in Monument Square (if permitted) and distribute materials. (If this is not possible it will be done on the First Parish lawn.) 2:00 p.m. A rally will be held at MMNP with a keynote speaker and 4 guest speakers (Unitarian, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist) 4:00 p.m. End Publicity Pre-Event: Design logo, tee shirts, reuseable water bottle stickers.
