Monday 27th April

This is one of the best CPD
programmes I have ever taken part in EVER!
Fantastic course leader - very inspiring
This course is a definite must for
schools/practitioners who wish to
develop their understanding of Maths
as a core subject area. It offers
opportunities to assess and evaluate
practice alongside building a network
of colleagues with whom best practice
can be shared.
It was a no-nonsense approach to
what exactly is needed to improve
learning
2/3 of my hard to move children made
more than expected progress (6
points) as a direct result of me
implementing the elements of this
course.
The opportunities for professional
dialogue were so very useful
This has totally changed my approach
to the thinking about and teaching of
Maths
At the third computing meeting of the year
subject leaders of ICT and computing will
explore:
 Any new Government updates
 Sharing of good practice (Teach Meet
style)
 Assessment of computing – sharing of
ideas
 What’s new
 Issues with the implementation of
Coding in primary schools.

The Affinity TA network brings together a range
of support staff from across the alliance to
share good practice and explore relevant,
innovative, and exciting ideas that can be of
practical use in school.
New members are welcome to join the group,
and each session includes stand-alone training
and sharing of good practice, as well as
identifying topics for exploration at future
meetings.
The network examines the valuable role that
TA's play in education, and ensures that staff
are able to identify needs, ask questions, and
access training to support their continued
professional development.
The network meets once per term, at two
different regional locations.
The summer term meeting will have a focus on
motivating pupils in a range of contexts, and
will also include practical ideas to ensure that
pupils' self esteem is not a barrier to learning.
At this session we will also have an 'open mike'
section for anyone who may have an
interesting resource or information to share.
Finally, we will also determine the theme for
the next meeting.

In response to demand from members, this
programme will enable schools to implement
an objective process of intensive support for
teachers at risk of entering a capabilities
procedure as a result of serious
underperformance. Jointly led by Headteachers
and Human Resource Officers, it will provide a
framework which will enable school leaders to
support the most seriously under performing
teachers to strengthen their teaching as
required, or, where teachers are unable to
make this progress, will enable the school to
demonstrate that the required level of support
has been facilitated prior to progression to any
capabilities procedure.
This programme is appropriate for
headteachers and senior leaders who are
working with a teacher who is causing serious
concerns relating to their performance. Please
see the attached checklist to ensure that this
programme is appropriate for the situation you
face.
Participating schools need to identify 1. a
senior member of the leadership team to lead
the programme (usually the headteacher), and
2. a member of the senior leadership team with
the appropriate skills to be able to mentor the
teacher. Both people should attend each
session. Please note - The teacher should not
attend.
Session 1: 16th April (Whole Day).
