Jointly led by Headteachers and Human Resource Officers, it will provide a framework which will enable school leaders to support the most seriously under performing teachers to strengthen their teaching as required, or, where teachers are unable to make this progress, will enable the school to demonstrate that the required level of support has been facilitated prior to progression to any capabilities procedure. This programme is appropriate for headteachers and senior leaders who are working with a teacher who is causing serious concerns relating to their performance. Please see the attached checklist to ensure that this programme is appropriate for the situation you face. Participating schools need to identify 1. a senior member of the leadership team to lead the programme (usually the headteacher), and 2. a member of the senior leadership team with the appropriate skills to be able to mentor the teacher. Both people should attend each session. Please note - The teacher should not attend. Session 1: 16th April (Whole Day).
