our experience is like on the MCV campus; data will be used to improve upon
and enhance the student experience
2. Dr. Margaret Roberson: Director of University Student Health Services

Immunizations
-Mandatory flu vaccine will be offered free of charge from Student Health



Parking Issues
-Trying to improve lighting and sense of security for everyone
-About 110 new security cameras have been added in the parking facilities
-A new parking system at VCU will be replacing all current hardware/software;
goal is to go live with the new system on July 1
-New parking system will include complete online management for parking and
will be much better and more updated than the current system
-If you have questions, call 828-park
Transportation Issues
-Cameras have been fully installed on all buses
-The Campus Connector is intended to have a 10-minute maximum wait time
(with the exception of evenings and weekends); if it is taking longer it is likely
due to downtown traffic during certain time periods
-The budget does not have the funds to extend weekend hours for the Campus
Connector (or Ram Safe)
-Ram Safe is supposed to stop running at 8am on Saturday mornings (not 7am!)
-Bus drivers are supposed to stop at every bus stop now
4. Chief Venuti: Chief of Police


Parking, transportation, and safety
-LiveSafe App helps share information with safety officials and other people to
help prevent incidents from occurring; you can submit information concerning
any suspicious activities or safety concerns through this app
-There is a survey that is sent out twice each year concerning safety; the survey
indicated that about 96% of the respondents feel safe on this campus
-Please remember that feedback from the survey will help make improvements
-Chief Venuti is starting an initiative to promote diversity; will be creating a
panel to serve as representatives to help bridge the gap between different groups
and cultures
Bike Race
-A huge bike race will be occurring in Richmond in September
-About 800,000 people will be coming to the area for the race
-Please keep a look out for more information coming soon regarding the bike
race

Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis
-The Pediatric Pharmacy Student Group (PPSG) is leading the MCV campus in the
Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis on May 16. Hosted by the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation of Richmond, Great Strides is a fun event that raises awareness and
support for people with CF and their families. There are about 30,000 Americans
living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons,
friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. Advances continue to
be made in the search for a cure, but your help is needed to keep up the momentum of
life-saving CF research. By visiting our team page at:
http://fightcf.cff.org/goto/PPSG, you can help us reach our donation goal and/or join
our team to walk with us and help add tomorrows!

River City BuddyBall
-River City BuddyBall is a volunteer opportunity to be a "buddy" to special needs
athletes ranging from ages 5-25. The role of the buddy is to assist the player in
staying focused and involved while playing the sport and being a friend to them.
Baseball season starts April 18th and games are Saturday mornings from 9-12, with
practices Wednesday evenings from 6-7 at the RF&P fields off Mountain Road in
Henrico County. Tennis season starts April 19th and matches are Sundays from 4-6
pm at Glen Allen High School. If you are unable to help out this season, this program
is year-round! They have flag football and cheerleading in the fall, and basketball and
