Reminder from your facilitators: Be sure to submit your three campaigns that you are
considering by Thursday, November 5 by sending an email to trainingrichmond@PeoplePoweredMovement.org. We’re looking forward to seeing you on Friday,
November 13, at 5:00 PM. See the preparation instructions sent via email for all preparation
details.
Travel To and From the Facilities
The training will be held at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia

Friday Evening
MCV Alumni House: 1016 East Clay Street (11th and Clay St.) near the yellow region of

VCU Dept of Physical Therapy, in West Hospital: 1200 E Broad St, in the yellow region

Enter the building on Marshall St, ½ block east of 12th St (through AD Williams
Clinic)
Proceed straight (past pharmacy); look for signs.
Bike racks are available across Marshall Street, located under the overhang
Parking is available nearby at some of the following places:
o On-street parking – metered spaces, generally free on weekends and after 5:00 pm
weekdays

Note: persons attempting to park in the “Patients and Visitors” parking deck may be turned away
as this deck is restricted to patients of and visitors to the medical facilities.
Greater Richmond Transit Company operates the bus system in the area, and has all information
regarding fairs and planning your trip at http://www.ridegrtc.com/TripPlanner.aspx
Richmond is served by Richmond International Airport, which is served by Air Tran, Air
Canada, American, Continental, Delta, Jet Blue, Northwest, United, and U.S. Airways.
Depending on traffic, it is a short drive to the downtown area, or you can take the GRTC bus.

Bicycle rental is not available for this training; however, we are doing our best to try to find
loner bikes for participants, as needed. If you would like a loan bike, please email
jeremy@peoplepoweredmovement.org with your height and inseam, and we will do our best to
arrange a bike.
Nearby Hotels
Hotel availability is quite scarce, as the training is taking place at the same time as the Richmond
Marathon. Currently, all downtown hotels are sold out. However, we have been able to negotiate
fair deals at the following hotels, each less than four miles from our training location.
