a. Al Subramanian, interim Director of Parking and Transportation
i. Transportation:
1. BRT- (Bus Rapid Transit down West Broad)
a. 10/2017 new bus system from Rocketts Landing to Willow lawn for
students
b. Considering expanding campus connector to augment BRT
2. Transportation options after dark:
a. Ramsafe is available between campuses (VCU-SAFE or 828-7233)
b. For MCV campus only, call 828-WALK or 828-9255 for escort service
3. Bikeshare received grant from VDOT so starting new program fall semester with
100 bikes at 25 stations….will be similar to UVA bikeshare program (u-bike)
ii. Parking:
1. A lot is going away as of May 2016! City has cancelled the contract….but still up
in the air
a. Looking at Mayo island (14th street) for replacement- additional 300
spaces, will provide 2 shuttles to campus
b. Previous issues with websale will be resolved, it was the first time
running the new system
c. 12/01/15 – 12/31/15 anyone with current parking spot will need to
renew
d. K lot renewals on 1/5/16 (current K lot parkers should have received an
email)
e. 1/6/16 anyone else can purchase a new spot
2. Some changes with gate on 8th street deck
iii. Plan on having quarterly forums for parking/transport- MCV and MP campuses

Funding requests
a. Medical Student Athletic Club’s (MSAC) Turkey Bowl: $500 (Nov. 21)
i. 2:30-6:30 pm on 11/21 at Cary Street Fields
ii. Teams of 5
iii. Must donate can of food to enter (no fee)
iv. Winning team will receive champion shirts
v. Vote: approved
b. Hispanic Dental Association’s Hispanic Cultural Competency Luncheon: $600 (TBD)
i. Part of diversity initiative of dental school
ii. May be a dinner so that more people can attend
iii. Students from all schools are invited- google forms sign up
iv. Speakers will be of Hispanic descent and share cultural norms, common practices, etc.
that will help us be more informed while treating patients from those countries
1. Please contact Hispanic Dental Association if you/someone you know can speak!

President’s Updates
a. This week is Homecoming
i. 4pm on Friday- there will be a parade! If interested in participating, email

b. 5 versions of logo…planning to vote in January
c. JSGC (Joint Student Government Council) is expanding to include all 5 schools are represented
(plus an at-large rep), contact Keith if interested
d. VCU campus in Qatar- opportunity for cultural exchange next fall (money will come out of our
budget)- up to 4 students from MCV
i. 1 week trip usually end of October
e. SURVEYS
i. Student satisfaction survey (only triennial so please fill out)
ii. Make it real branding survey
iii. SGA survey- PLEASE FILL OUT
f. Elections for next year’s exec are in March
Philanthropy report
a. Thanksgiving Food Drive, Oct. 26 – Nov. 23
b. CHAT: Donate a toy before Dec. 1
i. Better to give directly to CHAT or a rep because they can be more expensive
ii. Class (not school) with the most items donated will get a pizza party
