Senator Angela seconds. Anna describes the basic functions of ARK and its history. The group conducts outreaches in the Kirkland community. Not all outreaches cost money, but we do have times where we responsibly use funds for events, I.E. paying groceries for community member. A.R.K. may come back for additional funds for bigger events. Senator Shandra: What happens if money is not used by the end of the year? -Andy Hall: If this passes, A.R.K. will be able to spend money and get reimbursed and funds will be managed by the NUSG treasurer. Unused funds will go back to the NUSG treasurer. Spending is tracked. Senator Brock: Is the money from the dungeon from the reserved fund? -Andy Hall: No. It is in its own designated account Senator Nation: What do you hope to spend this money on? -Anna: So far we have spent close to $134 so far. $22.67 went to an otter pop outreach, $13.70 went for a foot washing outreach, $75 will go to groceries. $5 are used for devotional day snacks. The majority of money goes to the community. We do have a big event that is coming up and ARk will be hosting a ‘Boogie Bash’ event for Halloween. It will be a campus event that is open to the community. Ideally it would show the community of Kirkland that NW is a safe and open place. (Funding is not being asked for for this event in this motion). Senator Nation: Andy, last year we didn’t want to take students money for outreach for Lighthouse is this justifiable now? Senator Marlene: I believe the reason we didn’t give Lighthouse those funds was the scale of the money and that we felt it was Senator Brock: Is there an expiration for this club to use these funds? -Andy: End of the year Calvin calls the question. Voice vote passes unanimously. Andy Hall explains amending the motion. 5:26 Agenda Item: Improv Funding Improv asks for funding in the amount of $450. Senator Marlene moves to approve. We also want to fundraise for children getting the surgeries and will have direct contact with those kids we aid. There may be opportunities to go visit countries with these programs. Senator Zoey: Do you recieve funding from the national CURE U organization. Angela: No, we would ask Senate for funds for an initial budget. But we are planning on fundraising.
