August 30, 2015
Coaches,
Thank you for volunteering to coach a team this season at Falls Soccer Club. The Board realizes and appreciates the time and
commitment you are giving to your team and the Club and will offer any assistance we can to better help your time spent.
Before the season starts we would like to share some information about the upcoming season and events that will also take
place.
Practice Grids:
Every team will have a practice grid assigned to them to use on practice nights. These grids are assigned to every team from
U10 thru U18. There will be Curver nets placed at the grids and we will make Pugg nets available to any team that needs them.
The grids are beneficial to us all for multiple reasons. The biggest benefit is that it allows you to as a coach to concentrate on
teaching fundamentals, foot skills and developing a passing game. The grid size will also allow you to create small sided games
to end your training sessions. Some teams received team bags this past Spring which contained cones, pinnies and a first aid
kit. Please continue to use the bag if you received one or please let us know if you did not get a team bag and would like one.
We will also provide portable lighting later in the season when we lose light so the grids are lit on practice nights. Please be
mindful to use the grid assigned to your team and not take over another grid assigned to another team. A copy of the field
layout map is online at the Clubs website.

October 4th 2015.
** Pink Out is and event open to all members of Falls Soccer Club and their friends where the members are invited to come out
and play with friends on teams they form and all monies raised on the day are donated to a community based charity or local
family in need. Please encourage your team players to participate.
Game Day:
Please remember that on game day we stress that each child receives equal playing time. We do not keep standings at Fall
Soccer Club in our recreational programs. Each team will be supplied a game ball that the Home team will provide at each
game. The Home team is the team listed on the left side of each fixture/schedule.
Please be mindful of your conversations with the referees. If you have a question about a call please wait until half time or the
end of the game to enquire about the call. The referee has the authority to call the game and they are the licensed referee. If
you happen to be a licensed referee then you should show some professional courtesy towards them. Also, your dialog to the
referee inspires your sideline to chime in too and can be a very negative effect on the game. Use the Referee Game Reports to
let us know how we can improve the quality of officiating at our games.
Select Tournament Teams:
Every Fall season there are local Recreational Select Tournaments where clubs offer their intramural players the chance to play
in age and gender pure tournaments. Currently there is a Girls U8/9 team being formed by Coach Bernie Panaro. This is a great
opportunity for players wondering whether or not to make the next move into competitive soccer and also for coaches
pondering that same move also. If you are interested in taking a team to a Select Tournament this Fall please let us know as
soon as possible so we can begin advertising tryouts and filling in registrations. Uniforms will be provided by the Club.
Background Checks:
Effective July 1st, 2015 the State of Pennsylvania made passed a law mandating that all people whether they are paid or
volunteers who are in direct contact with children must complete a background check with both the PA Department of Child
Welfare and also a criminal background check with the PA State Police. If you have not yet done your background check please
go to epysa.org and complete the online instructions. Once you have successfully completed the checks please submit your
clearances on a PDF to Bernie Panaro (bpanaro94@aol.com) who will be the compliance officer and liaison between FSC and
the EPYSA.
Thank You!
Once again the Board of Falls Soccer Club would like to thank you for stepping forward to coach your team. There can never be
enough praise and thanks showered on volunteers who take on the role of coach and mentor to the youth in our community.
As Board members we too coach teams and share individual responsibilities at the Club while still trying to maintain a happy
work and home balance too. We are there for you. If you have questions, suggestions (don’t worry we hear complaints too)
please come to us and ask. We are always striving to better the playing environment at Falls Soccer Club for you and also the
children. Our monthly meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at the Falls Township Municipal Building, 188 Lincoln
Highway, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
