Coaching Resume James Quijano 2157 Stillspring Pl Martinez Ca, 94553 (925)381-6592 Hi, My name is James Quijano; I am 27 and the current coach for Diablo FC boys U-15 D-1. I have been coaching for eight years and hold my CYSA E/D license as well as my NSCAA National Diploma. My father was born in Valencia, Spain. He played soccer for Valencia Club de Futbol, a highly competitive soccer club playing in La Liga, the top professional league in Spain. My father was afforded the best coaching possible which he has passed on to me. I have played competitive soccer in California for numerous clubs, most notably, Ballistic United in Pleasanton California and Diablo Valley Soccer Club (now Diablo Futbol Club) in Concord California. I spent five years with the club, playing as a striker and periodically as a winger. I have had excellent professional coaching, working on fitness and skills and utilizing that to become a successful player. Due to my fathers influence, I attempted to play professional, going on trial with Seattle Sounders F.C. and Portland Timbers as well as playing in the MLS reserve division in 2008-2009. I currently play in various leagues in Northern California My coaching philosophy comes from a variety of places. I have taken numerous courses in coaching and I have learned a lot from my own coaches, as well as mentors. I feel that hard work, and a team spirit count, as well as playing simple. What that entails for me is passing on the ground, to space and feet. For the players to have a good first touch, and to be physically fit and feel confident with and without the ball. I feel that this will work, with the team moving together towards goal with confidence, versus having the “superstar” be the go to player. I am a vocal coach, and I believe in practicing what I preach. I follow the US Club Soccer and the US Soccer Federations current formation of the 4-3-3. My goal is to take players out of their comfort zone, so that they will be trying new things that normally they would not do Player Experience: 1995-1999 WCSC Force (class 1) coach Jerry Katt 1999-2001 DVSC Crusaders (class 1) Chris Colao 2001–2005 Ballistic United (class 1) Kim Lambert 2005-2007 Golden Gate United SFSFL div 1 2007-2009 San Geronimo Marin Soccer League div 1 2009- Red Devils F.C.
