The Senior Planner is responsible for all supply and demand planning tasks necessary to ensure an uninterrupted flow of Reagent and Bioassay products to customers. The Senior Planner creates and implements production plans that are both material and resource feasible and serves as the primary point of contact regarding product availability. The Senior Planner is also responsible for leading and supporting key supply chain projects and process improvement initiatives. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Utilizes demand forecasts and sales trends to create and maintain demand plans, capacity plans, and master production schedules Interfaces with Manufacturing, Purchasing, QC, Logistics, and R&D to ensure availability of necessary raw materials Ensures that raw material shortages are identified and resolved in a timely manner Drives the resolution process of MRP exceptions, and resolves MRP discrepancies Coordinates with Order Management and Sales regarding reserve orders, forecasts, and product status Reviews open job reports and other indicators to ensure a timely delivery of finished goods to support customer demand Identifies, negotiates, and resolves conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising Notifies Order Management, Manufacturing, and other internal stakeholders whenever an existing shipment commitment is in jeopardy, and recommends alternatives on how the requested demand could be satisfied Maintains inventory levels within established goals and guidelines and recommends adjustments in stocking levels Monitors and implements actions to minimize raw material and finished goods scrap Coordinates with Manufacturing to maintain Bill of Material (BOM) structures as required Actively participates as a reviewer/approver in the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process Reviews cycle count and physical inventory records and resolves any discrepancies Coordinates with Manufacturing, Sales, and other internal stakeholders to maintain scheduling parameters such as lead times, lot sizes, scales, safety stocks, and other item attributes for all planned items Ensures that all processes are conducted according to approved procedures Demonstrates ownership of product lines through consistent and effective reporting of product availability, potential risks, opportunities, and overall health of Instrument, Reagent, and Bioassay products supported Effectively utilizes technology and tools including (but not limited to) Excel and Discoverer to perform complex analysis that cannot be achieved directly within Oracle Actively supports New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts and projects in addition to other daily responsibilities Required Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Business, Technical, or Biological Sciences field. I0 years of relevant work experience in supply and demand planning may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree Biotechnology industry experience is preferred Certifications and Skills: Demonstrated skill using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment Skilled experienced in using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Power Point Excellent written and oral communication skills APICS and/or Six Sigma certification is preferred Highly organized with proven time management and prioritization skills Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Ability to handle the pressure of meeting tight deadlines Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Planning, Demand Planning, or Master Scheduling. 10 years of experience is preferred Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities Extensive experience using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment. Oracle E-Business Manufacturing experience preferred Experience in a GMP and/or FDA regulated environment is preferred Working Conditions: Work on-site 90% of the time Travel may be required approximately 10% of the time International travel may be required approximately 5% of the time Possible exposure to biological or chemical hazard Work situations include dealing with people; working alone; making judgments and decisions; and directing, controlling or planning the activity of others
