St Wilfrid’s Pupil Premium Analysis 2013-2014 Context of Pupil Premium in comparison to St Wilfrid’s overall profile 8.3% of pupils receiving free school meals (FSM) 0.5%(7 students) of pupils who are looked after children 16.9% of pupils who have received FSM in the last 6 years 0.4% of pupils who are from service families Amount received and spent 2013-14 ‐ £ 160343 Educational attainment: impact of funding 9% improvement in narrowing the gap in English progress between pupil premium and non-pupil premium students (internal data analysis). 70% of pupil premium cohort made expected or greater than expected progress in English in 2014 in comparison to 77% on non PP cohort. 16% improvement in narrowing the gap in Maths progress between pupil premium and non-pupil premium students (internal data analysis). 55% of pupil premium cohort made expected or greater than expected progress in Maths in 2014 in comparison to 73% on non PP cohort. FSM school attendance was 1.7% higher than non-FSM figures, a further positive affirmation of attendance monitoring and positive mentoring. Absence trends for all categories continue to be consistently well below National averages. Persistent absenteeism for FSM (absent for 15% or more sessions) was well below 2013 national schools averages (9.9% St Wilfrid’s compared to 13.8% National) The low level of fixed term exclusions were maintained, 1.7% St Wilfrid’s FSM compared to national 13.8%. No permanent exclusion of FSM pupils occurred. The whole Academy EnMa A*-C results increased by 4% in 2014 to 78%. However the equivalent PP data signified a 3% drop to 42% from previous year’s performance.
