JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Purpose of Position
The Donor Relations Manager, along with the campaign team, is responsible for the creative development, design,
implementation, and evaluation of fundraising strategies. Build relationships with companies and individuals in
assigned accounts to support financial and relationship building goals for UWAC. Provide quality, effective account
management and work to develop relationships that engage and enhance donor and volunteer connections.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Relationship Management/Account Development – 60%
1. Evaluate and analyze past campaign performance in assigned companies in order to develop more effective
customer focused engagement plans for the future.
2. Utilizing knowledge gathered from customer meetings, develop and advocate for the implementation of specific
campaign strategies and activities at assigned workplace campaigns.
3. Inspire customers to invest or increase their investment in UWAC by discovering their interests, engaging them
through product offerings (volunteer opportunities, events, investment options) that meet their needs and
communicating with them in a way that appeals to them.
4. Anticipate challenges and implement alternative strategies to achieve overall goals.
5. Work with volunteers to cultivate relationships with area CEOs through annual CEO visits.
Account Analysis & Reporting – 20%
6. Use ANDAR database as a tool to help build relationships by keeping up to date records, including, but not
limited to: communications, campaign plans and volunteer/donor/company philanthropic interests.
7. Maintain accurate information on assigned accounts utilizing Andar database, retrieve and analyze campaign
information for reports, update projections and schedule educational events.
8. Provide liaison with the finance department in the submission and verification of campaign information.
Complete all paperwork to close out workplace employee campaigns with United Way and workplace payroll
departments within specified time frames.
Volunteer Recruitment & Development – 10%
9. Assist in identifying and recruiting volunteers for the campaign. Accompany volunteers on selected corporate
calls. Solicit corporations and individuals on behalf of United Way. Provide accurate reports and materials to
volunteers on a timely basis. Communicate with volunteers on a regular basis to monitor progress towards
achieving goals.
Internal Communication – 10%
10. Work with other departments to ensure cross functional collaboration and information sharing without
duplication of efforts.
11. Participate in organizational activities and serve on staff teams and committees as necessary.
12. Participate regularly in community activities and events to enhance the image and position of United Way.
Qualifications and Experience:


Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; experience with United Way
campaign preferred.
Two years demonstrated success in relationship building, sales, fundraising and/or project management;
non-profit experience preferred.














A self-starter with the ability to effectively handle multiple, complex tasks and solve problems with a goaloriented mindset.
The ability to become proficient, to the point of assisting other staff, in Andar (relationship management and
fundraising data management software).
Demonstrated numerical aptitude with a strong ability to analyze data.
Demonstrated ability to prepare reports, present data in an understandable form.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to handle confidential information and management of a variety of responsibilities.
Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of standard office hours.
Have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of current insurance.
Physical Requirements:
This position primarily works in an office environment requiring frequent sitting, standing and walking. This position
may require the ability to stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings and the ability to use a computer for
extended periods of time. Local travel is necessary, so access to reliable transportation is required. May
occasionally be required to travel to attend conferences or other related events. Delivering campaign materials is
routinely expected and the ability to lift up to 35lbs is required.
