Current Call for Papers School Libraries Worldwide is the official professional and research journal of the International Association of School Librarianship. It is published twice yearly, in January and July, and is available online and through select periodical databases. School Libraries Worldwide publishes new works of current research and scholarship on any aspect of school librarianship. All papers are double-blind peer reviewed and adhere to the highest editorial standards. Methodologies and Theories in School Library Research (Volume 21, Number 2, July 2015). This issue of School Libraries Worldwide is based on the theme of the free discussion of employing methods and theories. For this issue we will concentrate on how school library researchers employ theories and methodologies to their work in creating new knowledge for the field. Possible topics include, but are not limited to: Methods Unobtrusive methods Historical Bibliometrics Meta-analysis Surveys Interviews Experiments Case studies Social media analysis Observation Longitudinal approaches Theories Learning theory Information seeking Theory building Sense making Information search process Berry picking Communication, social sciences education This issue will provide an opportunity to address not only successful methodological approaches to empirical investigations, but offer a context or framework for discussions of methodological or theoretical issues that transcends the specific enquiry. The editors will accept papers on creative methods of gathering data, but are also interested in creative methods of contextualizing research and analyzing data. The use of methods and theories from related fields such as education, sociology, information science, and psychology and how they apply to school library research are particularly welcome School library researchers are invited to submit papers reporting their own original research that has not been published elsewhere. Authors who wish to know more about the issue theme should contact the editors to discuss their interests. School Libraries Worldwide also welcomes submissions of excellent research on any topic relating to school librarianship for the open portion of the journal.
