Job Description General Information Job Title: Compliance and Assurance Manager Responsible To: Executive Director of Corporate Development Responsible For: N/A Directorate: Corporate Development Team: Business Success Job Family: Manager Role Purpose To be the Group lead for compliance and assurance ensuring stakeholder requirements and customer expectations are met through the assessment of evidence-based practice in line with all relevant regulation and legislation. To take an active role in the delivery of the Group’s mission, vision and values providing inspirational behaviour, role modelling, optimism and purpose. Principal Accountabilities 1. As part of the Corporate Development Management Team to lead on the development, implementation and reporting of strategies, corporate plans and actions plans which shape the strategic agenda for the Group. 2. To assess the performance of the Group against regulatory and customer agreed standards highlighting areas for improvement and ensuring that these are enacted within agreed timelines. 2. To ensure the completion and submission of all regulatory and partnership returns in a timely manner. 3. To review, design, develop and implement a risk management framework / structure which is mainstreamed throughout the Group and meets and exceeds our governance arrangements. 4. To develop, improve and provide good practice in relation to Governance and Corporate Compliance. 5. To lead and liaise on the co-ordination of all internal audits ensuring actions are recorded, monitored and enacted. 6. To be the lead on Data Protection across the Group including: Being responsible for promoting Data Protection compliance across the business, including the provision of advice and guidance To ensure current registration with the Information Commissioner and that the business learns from good practice Page 1 of 3 To ensure that policy and procedures relating to Data Protection are accurate and up to date To work in conjunction with the Learning and Development Officer to ensure the timely and effective delivery of training to employees, including refresher training. 7. To lead on Equality and Diversity across the Group ensuring Good Practice is mainstreamed across all services. 7. To assist in providing an accessible professional contact point for managers, offering advice, guidance and coaching on all areas of compliance and assurance to enable them to meet business needs in line with organisational requirements. 8. To ensure the efficient and cost effective usage of all Group resources – human, physical and financial. 9. To provide timely, accurate and business focused reports to the Executive, Board and other interested parties. 10.Work with the Executive to support the Board to fulfil their governance role ensuring the fulfilment of our legal obligations. 11.To demonstrate responsibility and leadership for promoting and championing all aspects of equal opportunities by valuing diversity in all areas of work. 12.To take responsibility for ensuring and achieving the objectives of the Group’s Health and Safety Policy. 13.To undertake any other duties in order to meet personal, team and organisational objectives following consultation with your manager.
