RANK ACTIVITY AREA Leadership Activities Ensuring leaders are committed to Corporate Responsibility, including through stated culture, symbols and showing vision, including equipping leaders with to sustain and improve the business and its culture. For example: o Building consensus, buy-in and ownership for CR among senior leadership o Ensuring that leaders visibly lead by example and walk the talk o Driving cultural change and getting people to look to their manger to lead on CR, not the CR team. Governance and Risk Management Analysing, reviewing and developing formal management systems and structures, including risk frameworks , and risk analysis including scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and mitigation in the event of risk realisation. For example: o Identifying risks and opportunities to the business from external expectations o Establishing effective governance structures to support CR o Designing proactive risk mitigation and response strategies Stakeholder Activities Mapping, understanding and engaging with stakeholders of the business. For Example: o Mapping key stakeholders and their main concerns o Developing partnerships with stakeholders o Coaching operational mangers in stakeholder management Strategy Development and Implementation Reviewing, developing and implementing overarching strategy for the business (or business unit). Also includes planning or using a method or series of maneuvers to turn the business toward Corporate Responsibility. For example: o Designing the CR strategy and aligning it with the organisation’s purpose, values and vision o Integrating CR into business strategy, corporate governance and management systems o Translating CR strategy into operational policies and procedures Policy and Programme Development and Implementation Plan or implementing formally adopted policies and programmes with the intention to influence and determine decisions, actions, and employee behaviour. For Example: o Responsible customer relations including marketing and advertising o Tracking product responsibility and using CR marks o Ethical competition Supply Chain Activities Integration of corporate responsibility into companies' sourcing policies and procurement processes For Example: o Ensure compliance with ethical and responsible sourcing policies across the supply chain o Promoting social and economic inclusion via the supply chain Communications – Internal Communicating and raising the profile of Corporate Responsibility within the business. For example: o Increasing the understanding of CR issues within the business o Communicating CR initiatives and activities to the business o Improving employee engagement o Sharing CR success stories and achievements Communications - External Communicating and raising the profile of Corporate Responsibility outside the business including to stakeholders, peers and government.
