Introduction to the INTJ
The INTJ personality type is one of 16 abbreviations used to classify certain individuals when referring to
publications of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The INTJ personality type is one of 16
personality types that an individual can be categorized as. The INTJ personality type accounts for 2% of
the entire population. They are considered ‘the masterminds’.
The Meaning
The ‘I’ is an abbreviation for ‘Introversion’. The INTJ personality type tends to be quiet and reserved.
This individual likes to be alone and often performs their best work in a small environment. INTJ’s
interact with few close friends rather than a wide circle of friends. INTJs thrive in smaller environments
and often are drained of energy in social situations.
The ‘N’ is an abbreviation for ‘Intuition’. The INTJs like to focus on the overall picture rather than the
small details. They tend to be more abstract than concrete. This personality type can be classified as the
gathers of information. INTJs gather information around them and then analyze that information to
reach new insights. They value knowledge and enjoy intelligence. These characteristics make the INTJ
personality type ideal for mathematicians and scientists.
The ‘T’ is an abbreviation for ‘thinking’. INTJs spend lots of time focusing on logic and objective
information rather than subjective emotions. They are more likely to rely on experience rather than
social consideration when making decisions. This personality type has the potential to create a brilliant
plan and then execute it. INTJs often wonder why things are the way they are. They find themselves
questioning situations all around them.
The ‘J’ is an abbreviation for ‘judging’. INTJs like to have control and order. This personality type is often
always on time and prefers to be early than late. They prefer structure in their work, life, and
relationships. INTJs have very high expectations and hold themselves to the highest standards. They also
tend to be highly efficient; always seeking ways to perform a task in the best and most effective way.
INTJ Relationships
Many people consider the INTJ personality to be quiet and disinterested. This can make forming
friendships difficult for INTJs. They seek constant growth in relationships and independence in
themselves as well as their mates. While INTJs tend to be less emotionally attached to their mates, they
definitely strive for positivity and honesty in their relationships. INTJs thrive in environments surrounded
by close friends and family. INTJs make good listeners and often provide good advice in situations. INTJs
are not scared to confront situations head on and they do well at accepting criticism. INTJs can be very
insensitive and not in tune with other’s feelings. An individual will have a difficult time trying to debate
with an INTJ personality type because the INTJ believes he is always right.

outcome. INTJs thrive in professional settings due to their ability to stay calm, cool and collect. They are
