STUDENTS











Any student interested in purchasing a 2015-16 yearbook may purchase from the main office or Mrs. Clement in
room 705 for $35. After October 9, price goes to $40.
We were planning to vote for the Homecoming Court during advisory on Monday. Due to the fact that we have
exams next Monday and Tuesday, we will not have advisory on Monday. In order to ensure everyone has an
opportunity to vote, we will have voting stations set up in the cafeteria on Thursday, Friday and Monday during
breakfast and lunch. Each student may vote for 1 girl and 1 boy in their grade.
4-H meeting Thursday, October 1 at 2:30 in the library. 4-H officers needed…if you are interested, please stop
by the library to speak to Mrs. Williamson, or Mrs. Duke in room 511 for more information.
The PSAT test will be given Wednesday, October 14. 10th & 11th grade students interested in taking the PSAT
can sign up in the counselor’s office. The cost of the test is $15. Juniors, you must take the PSAT during your
junior year in order to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Tomorrow is senior hat day, senior shirt with jeans (no holes) and senior picnic. Seniors, come early to decorate
your hat and get it signed or stop by Mrs. Clement’s class after school to pick yours up to decorate for
tomorrow. Caps will not be given out during class time.
Students may attend the homecoming dance if they have not gotten into a fight since the beginning of the year
and if they do not earn a referral for major suspendable offense from 9/29 through the time of the dance.
Don’t forget to buy your Homecoming t-shirts! All order forms and money are due to Ms. Brown in room 501 by
October 2. Homecoming tickets are also being sold in the morning at the concession stand in the cafeteria.
We will be hosting a blood drive on Monday, October 5 through the Ochsner Blood Bank. For every blood
donation a contribution of $10 will be made to ta scholarship fund. The scholarship will be awarded to a LHS
student at the end of the school year. Random drawing will choose the winner, and all student blood donors are
eligible to win. Please sign up in the counselor’s office if you would like to donate. You will be assigned a
donation time that best fits into your class schedule.
Art Club members that signed up to paint faces at the homecoming pep rally must be in the cafeteria for 5:00
on October 22. Wear your art club t-shirt! Also, please see upcoming art club info posted outside of room 611.
FCA movie night at 6:00 at the Pound on Thursday night. Wear something comfortable and some enjoy a great
movie. See you there.
Teachers All JROTC students are to remain in the Proper Uniform all day. Every Wednesday is JROTC Dress
Day. Students are not allowed to wear any other shoes except the black shoes they were issued. Students are
not to wear any other jacket in uniform other than the black JROTC on Wednesday.
SPORTS





Attention all senior athletes: Anyone who ordered “extras” on your Letterman’s Jacket we ask that you attempt
to pay prior to the senior picnic.
Congratulations to the MS volleyball teams for their wins yesterday. They play again today home against West
Thibodaux at 5:30.
JV, V volleyball game away today vs. Hahnville at 4:30.
JV football game away vs. Donaldsonville at 6:00.
Attention girls power lifters: Fall practice and tryouts will begin Monday October 5th at 2:45. Practices will be
on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Any lifter involved in any other sport must contact Coach Jon or Coach
Michelle BEFORE October 5th to begin coordinating practices.
