Invocation was given by Commissioner Mark McEachin 1. Finance Director Myra Tyndall updated the Board concerning new updates/requirements from the state. The Town is already in compliance in most issues. Mayor McLean made the statement that she thought these were requirements were being followed when Katrina Tatum was the manager. Interim Town Manager Angela informed the board that the town was in compliance with all of the requirements expected that it appeared to be more paperwork than anything to assure that all towns are in compliance and following procedures, also to assure stricter internal control. Myra discussed the expectations of pre-auditing every expense including payroll will be required by the state. 2. Angela and Myra discussed loss of revenue from business license for FY 2015 and FY 2016. Angela also questioned whether this would affect our peddler’s license, food and yard sales permits. Board advised that we research this in further detail to be sure. 3. Myra presented the final review of FY 2014-2015 budget before holding public hearing in the June 17, 2014 regular meeting. Notice was put in the paper 6/6/2014. 4. Effective July 1, 2014 hours change to work additional hours on Friday 8:00 -12:00. Commissioner Emmett Morton was concerned about lack of productivity if we opened for four hours he felt that the town would be paying employees, but with the time allotted would not get much work done. Commissioner Womack made a motion that the additional hours be on Fridays from 8:00a.m. Till 12 Noon for three (3) months trial period and to review this matter again in the October 2014 meeting. 5. Mayor/Commissioners Concern Mayor Mclean gave an update about the opening of a new business BP & CAART Associates at the old Sara Lee Plant. Mayor Mclean spoke of the jobs that will be coming to Maxton in the near future. She also provided the website and ask that we visit the website www.bpanc.net. 6.
