CCGPS Geometry
CCGPS Geometry is the second in the sequence of secondary mathematics courses designed to ensure that
students are college and work ready. Instruction and assessment will include the appropriate use of manipulatives
and technology. Topics will be represented in multiple ways, such as concrete/pictorial, verbal/written,
numeric/data-case, graphical and symbolic. My goal for each student is to have a rich and rewarding experience to
display mastery of the curriculum, but more importantly to become great analytic thinkers!

Steps for Success
 Be on time and prepared for class each day.
 Participate in individual or group activities and discussions.
 Complete all homework assignments.
 Be organized.
 Ask questions in class & seek extra help after class.
Unit Tests – There are 7 units per semester. The unit test will encompass all sections and topics within the unit.
Section Tests – Within each unit, material will be broken into several small sections, in which you will be assessed.
Homework
Homework will be assigned daily. Remember that homework is an important part of the learning process. Mark
problems that you do not understand so they can be addressed in class the following day.
Make Up Work
Making up missed work is your responsibility! Only students with excused absences will be allowed to make up
missed work. All make up work and tests will be recorded as a 0 until completed. Make-up tests and quizzes must
be taken before the next chapter test or it will remain a 0. You must make arrangements with me the day of your
return. If you miss only the day of review for a test, you are expected to take the test with the class if you return on
test day. Test make up times are Tuesday and Thursday mornings. See the schedule posted in the classroom.
Cheating
Cheating will NOT be tolerated. If I determine that you have cheated, you will receive a zero on the assignment,
your parents will be called, and you will be given a U in conduct for the grading period. The following constitutes
cheating: copying or sharing homework, talking during a test or quiz no matter what you are talking about, looking
on someone else’s paper or allowing them to look on yours, & using a calculator when it is not allowed.
Cell phones must be turned off and put away during class. Refusal to do so
will result in a write-up for insubordination.
Help Sessions
Extended learning help sessions will be offered Monday thru Thursday from 0745- 0815 and 3:35 – 4:05 for those
students who are giving 100% effort. This means that notes must be taken during lessons and homework must be
attempted.
