Kai Tak Transfer Scheme Hong Kong 2001 – 2002 Project Manager Project Manager for the design & construction of 1.2km of soft ground tunnel through sands with granite boulders, excavated using a 5.1m diameter Herrenknecht Slurry TBM with a segmental lining. Plus 6 shafts and associated structures in soft ground and 600m of reinforced concrete twin cell box culvert. Value: $95m Perth Main Sewer 3 (D&C) 2000 – 2001 Project Manager Project Manager for the construction of 1.4km of tunnel, excavated through sands with a 2.6m diameter Lovat EPB TBM, and installation of the segmental lining and final fibre glass lining. Value: $12m Northside Storage Tunnel Sydney, NSW (Alliance) 1998 – 2000 Site Manager – North Head Northside Storage Tunnel was the first major civil infrastructure project delivered via an Alliance in Australia. Works included construction of an underground decline, pump station and chambers with roadheaders in sandstones and the construction of 5.8km of tunnel through hard rock with a 6.5m diameter TBM. Value: $450m Primary role is to convert prospects into projects. This is achieved through the coordination of not only the in house pre-contracts group but also teams from joint venture partners as well as various consultants and sub-consultants. This has involved supporting tenders in the Middle East, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand as well as throughout Australia with values from 20M AUD right through to 3.5Billion AUD. The tenders have been hard dollar construct only through to complex Alliances and all with a Civil/Tunnelling aspect to them Responsible for assembling and managing a small group of ‘tunnelling specialists’ to support both the pre-contract and operational phases of projects with the major focus on planning for the successful delivery of tunnelling works. CityLink Transurban Melbourne, Vic (BOOT) 1996 – 1997 Site Manager - Kingsway Transfield Obayashi Joint Venture (TOJV) won the right to deliver the first major toll road tunnel in Australia, the Melbourne City Link. Works included the management of the construction of twin Roadheader tunnel sections, 650m and 1200m long (15mx9m profile) for the Project, through mainly siltstones as well as two cross passages via drill & blast techniques. Value: $1.8b Karak Highway Tunnel Malaysia (D&C) 1994 – 1996 Project Engineer The first offshore Project won by Transfield Tunnelling was the Karak Highway Tunnel. Responsible for the construction of a 1.0km long hard rock tunnel with an 11m x 8m profile, using drill & blast techniques and incorporating a permanent shotcrete lining. Value: $15m Perth Main Sewer 1 Perth, WA (D&C) 1993 – 1994 Project Engineer The first Project won by Transfield’s newly acquired Tunnelling Division was the Perth Main Sewer St1. Responsible for the construction of this 1.0km long by 2.7m excavated diameter tunnel through sands including sandstone pinnacles, with an own-designed and built tunnel shield incorporating a roadheader style cutting arm, and segmental concrete lining. Value: $6m North Western Sewer Melbourne, Vic (construct only) 1991 – 1993 Site / Shift Engineer Craig was responsible for the excavation & support of the TBM launch shaft which was excavated via drill & blast. He was also involved with the launch of the 4m diameter Lovat EPB TBM (the first in Austalia) and then excavation and support of the first 4km soft ground portion of the project with its segmental lining system.
