Tunnel of Oppression 2012
Info Session Jan 25 & 30
Overview
Tunnel of Oppression began at Western Illinois University in
1993
Today is a nationwide campaign put on by many colleges,
including SCU
SCU students are strongly impacted by the oppression that is
presented by Tunnel because it is so close to home and
emotional.
Two aspects of Tunnel:
Oppression- Students experience various aspects of
oppression, privilege, and power that affects SCU, the
U.S., and the rest of the world.
Hope- Offers goals and solutions that students can get
involved in order to fight for social justice. The end of the
tunnel includes an area for reflection.
