Lead designer - permanent (£40-45K)

We’re Effusion (www.effusion.co.uk), a design agency in Bethnal Green working with
some great clients who are changing the world for the better - they are mostly charity,
government, social enterprises and education institutions. We work to produce
exceptional designs for web and print for our clients in the UK and internationally.
We have an exciting and demanding role as a Lead Designer. This is a new role in the
company and we’re hoping to get someone who thrives on challenge, is entrepreneurial
and who has the right skills and innovative approaches to design and creative
conceptualisation. As the Lead Designer, you’ll be working directly with our Director as
well as leading a growing design team. We need someone who is able to lead on web
design, brand/identity and print projects from conception to completion. Not only will you
have an outstanding portfolio, demonstrable experience and great approaches to
working with clients, you will have experience leading a team and developing creative
and contemporary designs.
With a rapidly expanding team, your role will see you engaged on multiple projects
simultaneously; working with designers, developers, clients, external suppliers and our
director to ensure concurrent projects are delivered to the high specifications required;
with really creative outcomes. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time - we’re expanding,

You’ll need to be:




A confident and innovative designer that is able to deliver great designs and
commercial prowess whilst working in a team
With a track record leading design teams and creative processes in-house or in
agencies
Extensive experience working with client briefs to come up with beautiful yet
practical solutions
Extensive experience in art direction, branding and identity development
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Experience in creating compelling visual identities, strong typographic skills


Graduate level education or equivalent work experience
At least eight years experience working in a design/digital agency environment


Technical skills

Expert user of Adobe Creative Suite

Really good understanding of web usability and accessibility

Really good understanding of the print production and finishing processes
