Join one of Victoria Labyrinth Pioneers and her supporters who joined forces to create one of the first Labyrinths in our
Greater Victoria Communities. The James Bay Community Project and the City of Victoria became partners in 1999 to
build the James Bay Labyrinth in Irving Park. Just located three blocks from our Inner Harbour and Parliament Buildings it
is a simple walk from downtown. Begin the day with a Labyrinth walk and afterwards share a coffee with us as Candis
and friends share this Labyrinth’s Story. Find out how a gift of Japanese Cherry trees came to line the pathways to the
labyrinth!

On your way to Cadboro Bay may we suggest this self directed tour route:
University of Victoria – Finnerty Gardens – “Best Kept Secret of Victoria”
Finnerty Gardens is one of the most beautiful gardens in Victoria and open to view with no cost. If you
are a visitor to Victoria it is not to be missed and off the beaten tourist routes. It is located right next to
the University’s Interfaith Chapel. Henri Lock a Chaplain of the Chapel has a portable canvas labyrinth
that he encourages the students to explore periodically throughout the year. *Henri Lock will be

Cadboro Bay has a beautiful little community along one of the nicest sandy beaches – Gyro Beach that
could be your scenic drive to Arbutus and two labyrinth stops. Cadboro Bay United Church and Also
further along on Arbutus Road the site of our Sister’s of Saint Ann’s property called Queenswood.
Recently purchased by our University of Victoria, they have arranged for our Sisters to continue living on
site until late this fall. Currently one of Victoria’s first labyrinths, built by our Sister’s, is still on this site.
An inquiry has been made to the University regarding this labyrinth and it’s availability in September.

From here you can continue on deeper into Saanich into two directions, both on your way to our world
famous Butchart Gardens. *Two more outdoor labyrinths are along West Saanich and Old West Saanich

CorUnum Centre for Peace, 5990 OLD West Saanich Road, Victoria, B.C.
