Spring 2016 NUR 4710 – Fundamentals Remediation Plan Criteria for Success: 1. The goal of this remediation is threefold: a. Strengthen areas of weakness identified by the Kaplan Fundamentals Integrated Assessment b. Reinforce personal and professional accountability c. Promote success on the NCLEX and in the profession. 2. You must complete EACH assignment on time. 3. Failure to complete the plan as a whole or any component on time may result in failure of NUR 4710 and non-progression in the PBAU SON program Weekly Plan Module One: During week one of classes. Due by 4 pm January 15, 2016 Set up pre-course meeting with faculty this week (Sign-up sheets will be posted on Dr. King’s door. Sign-up is first come-first serve). Module Two: Due by 11 pm ET January 24, 2016 Remediate all questions on Kaplan Fundamentals Integrated Exam for at least 45 seconds each. This remediation is in addition to the one you did for last semester. In other words, repeat the remediation of all questions you did following the exam last semester. Module Three: Due by 11 pm ET January 31, 2016 Repeat Kaplan Focused Review test for Fundamentals of Nursing. Remediate all questions at least 45 seconds. Repeat review test until you achieve 100% score. Module Four: Due by 11 pm ET February 7, 2016 Repeat Kaplan Focused Review test for Fundamentals of Nursing Version 2. Remediate all questions at least 45 seconds. Repeat review test until you achieve 100% score. Module Five: DATE TBA Week of February 8, 2016 Repeat Kaplan Fundamentals Integrated Exam and remediate all questions for at least 45 seconds. Module Six: Due by 11 pm ET February 21, 2016 Access “analyzed test results” to create an outline of topics you missed on the Fundamentals Integrated Exam. These will be the remediation topics you will focus on for this remediation plan. Identify for each remediation topic the components of the nursing process and content areas associated with that topic in the “analyzed test results” report. Submit outline to course professor via email by date above. Module Seven: Due by 11 pm ET March 6, 2016 From the analysis page for the Fundamentals Integrated Exam, review and write a brief synopsis of the Remediation Explanations/Overview for each of the missed questions on your exam. (Use the NUR 4710 Remediation Explanations Template for this synopsis.) Submit online to course professor by date above. Module Eight: Due by 11 pm ET March 20, 2016 From the analysis page for the Fundamentals Integrated Exam, review and write a brief synopsis of the Remediation Explanations/Essentials of Nursing Care: Purpose, Implementation, and Expected Outcomes for each of the missed questions on your exam. (Continue the NUR 4710 Remediation Explanations Template for this synopsis.) Submit online to course professor by date above. Module Nine: Due by 11 pm ET April 3, 2016 From the analysis page for the Fundamentals Integrated Exam, review and write a brief synopsis of the Remediation Explanations/Background: Assessment and Related Disorders for each of the missed questions on your exam. (Completes the NUR 4710 Remediation Explanations Template for this synopsis.) Submit online to course professor by date above. If you made a Percentile score of 50% or greater on your Kaplan Fundamentals Integrated Exam, you have successfully completed this NUR 4710 Remediation Plan. Congratulations. If you scored below a Percentile of 50% score on the exam, please continue completing the following modules. Module Ten: Due by 11 pm ET April 10, 2016 Write an NCLEX type question (multiple choice with stem and 4 possible answers) for the topics of the first half of the questions you missed on the Fundamentals Integrated Exam retake. Submit these questions via email to your professor by the above date. Include answers to your questions. Module Eleven: Due by 11 pm ET April 17, 2016 Write an NCLEX type question (multiple choice with stem and 4 possible answers) for the topics of the second half of the questions you missed on the Fundamentals Integrated Exam retake.
