Environmental Data Analysis (ENVS 6452*02), Winter 2016 This course will examine statistical techniques commonly used for analyzing environmental data. The selection of techniques may vary from year to year so students should check with the instructor beforehand. In 2016 we will focus on Structural Equation Modelling, a 'family of statistical models designed to test a conceptual or theoretical model'. Assignments will consist of finding published research papers that make use of the technique that we look at, and discussing these applications. In addition, students will analyze data sets assigned to them. Emphasis will be placed on peer and collaborative learning. Pre-requisite: at least 1 undergraduate course in statstics and preferably some experience using R.
