The Classen SAS Dance Department made $707 from the homemade tamale dinner at PTSA Meeting on Thursday night. The Department voted to donate all of the proceeds to Project Parking Lot!! The Dance Department has now donated over $1000 to Project Parking Lot. Thank you teachers, parents and students for all you hard work. The purpose is to honor Classen SAS staff who go above and beyond for Classen students, staff that may otherwise go unnoticed. November Winner: Vince Miller You know him as the 6th grade math teacher . Vince Miller receives this award for his tireless effort to improve the lives of his students, not JUST their mastery of mathematical skills. He has often identified students with needs that have gone unnoticed by everyone else (IE student who needs glasses, student's who need help for food/clothing for their families etc). He will identify a need, and then single-mindedly pursue a solution, making sure that the need is meet. Thank you, Mr. Miller!! December Winner Richard "Coach" Garrett Veteran Classen baseball coach and teacher, Coach Garret came out of retirement to answer a pressing need at Classen SAS. He serves as the administration's eyes and ears during the MAPS construction, making sure that student's stay where they need to stay during class time, and go where they need to go in between classes. He lends an ear and a sturdy shoulder to students in need. Respected and cherished by Classen students and staff, Coach Garrett helps Classen every day. Thank you! Classen Arts Festival!! The CSAS All School Arts Festival is scheduled for Saturday April 21, 2012, noon to 4pm. The students can participate by entering in the Banner, T-shirt and poster contests. There will be prizes for the T-shirt and poster contest. All school sponsored groups are encouraged to participate. They can sell food items, club merchandise and /or provide entertainment.
