Friday, August 12th will be a B Day
Picture Day is August 29, 2011. Forms should be sent home
with your child by Tuesday the 22nd. Questions about
yearbook issues should be directed to the yearbook
teacher/sponsor Londa Madron at lsmadron@okcps.org
Retake Picture Day and Senior Picture Day is October 3rd.
This is for students who were absent on Aug. 29th or those
who purchased pictures they were unhappy with.
Seniors, the deadline to take your yearbook gown photos
through Lifetouch/prestige is Oct. 3rd. If you don’t have
them done through them by the deadline you can have them
done here at school on Oct. 3rd during retake day. You will
have two options.:
Option 1: Is a FREE sitting. You will get one shot and it will be what is in the
yearbook
Option 2: Is $15.00. You will get four shots and get to choose which one you
would like in the yearbook. If you choose Option 2: bring a check made out to
Prestige for $15.00 on Oct. 3rd.
If you have them done at Prestige you will not have to have them done again
at school.
Boys you will need a shirt and tie. Girls wear something nice.
This year we are going to take casual photographs to include in the yearbook
along with your gown picture. Please bring an outfit to wear for your casual
photo. This must be within the school dress code. If you have taken a casual
with Prestige/Lifetouch then you may use it. If you miss retake day you will
need to see Mrs. Madron for information on getting your casual done.
However, it is best to do so on the day of or take them at Prestige/Lifetouch.
Senior Class Parents!!!
This is a special announcement for parents of the 2012
Senior Class. Now is your opportunity to purchase a Senior
Ad for your child in the 2011–2012 year book. Senior Ads
include photos, submitted by you, and your special message
to your senior. Ads are available in quarter page, half page
and full page sizes.
Full page - $300.00
Half Page - $150.00
Quarter - $75.00
Bring cash/ check/ or money order to A308….Only 10 pages
will be sold….first come, first serve.
Senior Bio’s and Senior Polls will be sent out in the coming
week. All must be returned to room A308 by Sep 15th.
To 6th grade parents:
Elections are coming up for 6th grade student council!
It is a wonderful way for your student to get involved with school. Student
council will be visiting with the 6th graders this week to see if this may be of
interest to some students. If your student is interested in running for an office,
they will bring home a filing form which lists all of the duties and
requirements of student council officers.
This form must be signed by both the student and a parent, and returned no
later than Friday, August 12th.
The sooner, the better! Once the student has filed their form, they may begin
campaigning. The date of the election will be sometime next week.
ALL PARENTS:
Each student received a student handbook at convocation
Wednesday and Thursday the first week of school. You and your
student MUST SIGN the form in the back of the Student Handbook
(pages 52 & 52) and return those pages (pages 52 & 53) to the
counselors office. If your student did not get a hand book or (more
likely) lost it, check out the Classen SAS website
http://okcs.classenmh.schooldesk.net/ . You can download the student
handbook from the website, print out the form (pages 52 & 53) and
send it back to school with your student.
ALL STUDENTS:
Remember that the form in the back of your Student Handbook is
due. You can turn the form into Ms. Catlin in the Counseling Office.
This is a mandatory form. Thank you.

Become a Parent/Teacher Liaisons!
If you are looking for a way to be more involved at Classen and get to know the
staff please consider taking on a liaison position. Parent/teacher liaisons are
