The Directory Committee is requesting drawings of middle school/high school life for publication in this year's directory. Drawings can depict classes, lunchtime, sports, music, drama, art, passing time, anything to do with school. These drawings will be used where ever there might be some extra space in the directory. All drawings will be reproduced in grayscale. Submitting a drawing is giving permission for its publication in the directory. Use of drawings will be determined by space in the directory. Please submit drawings by Thursday, Nov. 3, to the envelope labeled "Drawings for Directory", in the PTA box in the main office. Include your name, grade, and contact information. Reflections A National PTA Fine Arts Competition (40 years) 2011-2012 Theme: "Diversity Means..." Deadline for Classen SAS competition submission: November 9th, 2010 Awards: Thursday, November 17th, 2011 (at IBNGO Night) Prizes: $25 for 1st place for 6-8th grade & 9-12th grade in each division. $50 for best overall in each division. (18 prizes ) 18 Entries ( 3 from each division) will go on to the PTA State Competition and then on to the National Competition in Washington DC. Band News The Classen Band Department has begun the fall fund raiser with Blue and Gold Sausage, chicken, and bacon. Students should take orders from October 11th to October 31st. All order forms should be turned in by Monday, October 31st for "A" day classes and Nov. 1st for "B" day classes. If additional forms are needed, they can be picked up in the band room. Money does not have to be collected until the meat is delivered. Checks should be made out to Classen SAS Band. Thanks in advance for your support. Want to order but no student is around to take it?? Classen SAS has a food pantry set up by the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank to provide additional food assistance to those in need of help over the weekend and other periods when school is out. As you all know, our two week fall break starts Friday, October 14th. If you or anyone you know is participating in the Food Assistance program, we encourage you to take advantage of this great opportunity!! Just stop by the main office and see Ms. Harris if you which to participate confidentially. The food pantry is open after school every Friday for your convenience.
