Monitoring Emissions
A Cache of 20 smoke particulate monitoring kits is available for deployment to
wildland fires. The kits provide real-time measurements of fine particulate
matter (PM2.5) and are available for monitoring both wildfire emissions and
prescribed burns. Each monitoring kit contains a Met One Instruments Inc. ESampler, mounting tri-pod, GOES satellite telemetry system, wind speed and
direction sensor, ambient relative humidity sensor, and ambient temperature
sensor. The E-Sampler is a battery-operated instrument and can run on an
internal battery, an external battery, or AC power via the universal power
supply.
Technicians do not accompany the kit; expertise in set-up and maintenance
will have to be provided independently on-site. A training video on set-up and

Ordering the E-Sampler Kits
Each smoke monitoring kit can be ordered by filling in the request information
below. To cover shipping costs please provide a valid UPS account number.
Shipping costs can be estimated based on instructions on page 4.
Additionally, a valid USFS job code is required in case damage or loss occurs.
The full cost of each monitor kit is $14,600 per kit ordered. Costs will not be
charged until damage or replacement is assessed.
Same day shipping available if order is placed by Noon Pacific Time, Monday through Saturday, else the unit will ship the next
business day.
