Supervising residents & assistant lecturers in OPC, inpatients, ward rounds,
department & Geriatrics intensive care unit.
Decision making for clinical issues (Inpatient & Outpatient).

6. Experiences:
6.1. Clinical Experience
Ain Shams University Hospitals (el-Demerdash hospital & Ain Shams specialized
Hospitals) are one of the biggest hospitals in Cairo and whole Egypt (2200 bed).
The Department of Geriatric Medicine consists of 27 beds, Geriatrics intensive care Unit
(11 beds), Osteoporosis diagnosis & management unitt.
During my job, I have worked as a House Officer (Intern) for 1 year and as a Resident
for 3 years, Assistant lecturer for 4 years and lecturer form April 2014 until now.
My clinical duties included out-patient clinic sessions dealing with new patients and
follow up patients, ward rounds, taking care of the newly admitted and emergency cases.
In addition, my duties included performing comprehensive geriatric assessment, critical
cases assessment, abdominal ultrasonography, participating in seminars, journal clubs,
case presentations and conferences related to my specialities and interests and assistance
in some clinically-based studies and projects.

During this period I have dealt with hundreds of Medical cases in the following
specialities: Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Endocrinology & Diabetes, Haematology,
Nephrology, Respiratory Medicine, Rheumatology, Neuropsychiatry, Infectious diseases
beside managing specific geriatrics disorders as delirium, strokes, dementia, atypical
presentations, syncope/falls, urinary incontinence, deconditioning, pressure ulcers,
managing of bed-blockers at ICU or inpatients by referral to home care and caregivers
training.
Also I have managed critical care patients as acute coronary syndrome, shock, strokes,
delirium, respiratory failure (including invasive and non-invasive mechanical
ventilation), ultrasonography in ICU, Cardiac arrest (ACLS), convulsions, metabolic &
electrolyte disturbances, and other critical care cases.
I have worked with the spirit of a team in close association with Surgical specialties to
provide pre/post-operative care to surgical specialties cases as fracture neck of femur,
knee replacement, postoperative delirium, Ostomies (as gastrostomy), diabetic foot and
peripheral ischemia, pressure ulcers, prostatectomy.
