Kennedy Council #1257 P.O. Box 923 Eau Claire, WI 54702 Meetings & Socials at K of C Hall 2708 Thomas Drive Eau Claire, WI Grand Knight’s Comments A big 1st Degree awaits on the 10th dear brothers, as I write this on Saturday morn 10/31, it appears quite likely that we'll have anywhere from 12 to 20 new brothers joining our ranks at the 1st Degree exemplification preceding our meeting at 6:30 on Tuesday, Nov. 10th. PLEASE make all efforts to attend as nothing makes the ceremony more special and the inherent fraternal bonding intangibles more meaningful and special as a good turnout by the council. A lot of productive work was put in by many to make this come to fruition, so try to attend to welcome the new Knights properly and renew old friendships. We had over 30 express interest in joining at our Immaculate Conception blitz on Oct. 10-11. Furthermore, Mark Aebly, Randy DeMars, Jerry Olson, Tom Kempen and myself all have signed one or more to form 100's aside from the blitz and there are still 3 or 4 more left over from a past drive at the Elk Mound/Rock Falls parish looking to get in. It should be a very festive evening...all the more so if YOU Submit articles to Tim Carroll: tcfromec54703@gmail.com November 2, 2015 are there. Also this month; on the 24th at 7:00 p.m. at our hall, new chaplain Father George will conduct our annual Memorial Mass for deceased brothers from the past year. Coffee and cake will follow the service, this will be in lieu of our 4th Tuesday social/potluck. The souls of dearly departed Knights: Sir Knight John Wagenknecht 48 years of service, Brother Knight Dr. Karl Walter 60 years of service, Brother Knight Eugene Aumann 65 years of service, Sir Knight Joseph Orfe 59 years of service, Brother Knight George Garnett 69 years of service and Sir Knight William Berman 40 years of service to the order will be recalled and celebrated at the annual Memorial Mass. On Sunday, November 29th we'll have Corporate Communion Mass at 10:30 at Immaculate Conception as it's the 5th Sunday of the month. With this coming on the heels of many new members coming in from IC, this would be a great time to revive/jumpstart this activity. Details will be finalized at the meeting, but Randy DeMars will need some help around the 19th or 20th to help the Bolton Refuge House tenants have a Happy Thanksgiving. Major Congratulations to Tim Carroll who was bestowed by dear friend and most recent past Grand Knight Kevin Friederichs with Knight of the Year honors at last month's Columbus Day Banquet. It was my pleasure and honor to go through the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Like us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/KofC1257 KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS JOHN F KENNEDY COUNCIL 1257 NEWSLETTER Degrees with Tim starting back in March of 2006. He's been a steady source of inspiration to me during ALL of that time and I feel it's safe to say nobody has been more integral to the many successes of our council over the past decade than Tim. Keep on going Brother Carroll. A sincere 'thank you' to Judi Teske who has donated generously to our causes since her husband and our brother Bob passed a little more than a year ago. Most recently Judi gave us $200 for a new Santa Claus suit which brother DeMars will don this coming Yuletide season. We welcome Father George of SH/SP parish our new Council 1257 Chaplain. Congratulations to newlyweds Hubert and Pat Fischer. Likewise, congrats to the many Knights who were honored for their years/decades of service at our banquet, in particular, Steve Steinmetz, Bob Walter, Dave Curley and Hubert Fischer who were able to attend. And thanks to Father George who led us in prayer before a wonderful meal. That's it for now, all the pieces are in place for us to have a 'November to remember', make sure you are a part of it! November 2, 2015 helped get our first ever Slam Fest Concession Stand off the ground and also recently became an assistant State KC Youth Coordinator. Thank you Randy! Vivat Jesus! Bill Chrostowski From the Raffle Chairman: I sent out the raffle tickets last week, you should have gotten them by now. I enclosed an envelope to return checks and ticket stubs. Please don't send money through the mail. We are having problems figuring out prize recipients because the ticket is not filled out fully. So if they just put "Joe" and a phone number that is hard to read. It takes a lot of work to find them. As always, do not send anything to the hall and don't combine raffle money and dues money in one check. By law, they have to be separated and we have two separate banks for the accounts. If you need more tickets, you can get more by seeing me at meetings, socials or call me 715-874-5574. Remember, the more we sell, the more we can help people at council and State levels. Thanks, Mark Aebly. From Financial Secretary: We are about one and a half months to having dues sent out. Remember, if you are not going to be in the area, please prepay dues before you leave or give us an address we can send dues to where you will receive the notice while you are gone. Thank you, Mark Aebly. Our October Knight of the Month is Randy DeMars who Submit articles to Tim Carroll: tcfromec54703@gmail.com Order your own KC 1257 shirt today.
