Grand Knights Notes
Kevin Friederichs
With the seasons changing and
the kids back in school I hope to
find everyone doing very well.
September has been a busy month
and October I am sure is filling up
fast. Thank you to everyone that
has donated their time and talents
to the different events so far this
year.
If you were not at the social in
September, a couple of things
happened. First, Judy Teske made
a donation to the council in
memory of her husband Bob
Teske. I would like to thank Judy
again and also would like to
remind all the Ladies of our
Departed Brothers that you are
always welcome and we enjoy
having you at our events. If you
need anything please contact me.
Second, Jerry Hamill and Susan
will be leaving us. They are
moving to Savage Minnesota to be
closer to their grandkids. Thank
you Jerry for all you have done for
the council over the years. You

The weekend of October 19th is
going to be a busy one. We will be
doing a membership drive at St
Olaf's. We will need volunteers to
help at the doors prior to mass.
Please contact Bill or myself to
volunteer for one of the 3 masses.
Also on the 19th is the Columbus
Day Dinner. The insert has more
information, please RSVP to me at
715-215-0815 by October 12th.
Don't forget the change this
month. The social will be the Ham
feed on the 14th and the business
meeting will be on the 28th.
Financial Secretary’s Note
Going south this winter? If you
are a dues paying member, please
arrange to pay it before you leave
so we aren't sending letters to you
address only to find they are being
held there until you come back in
the spring. I am trying to update
all records at Supreme. Many
people have had a lot of changes
in their lives since joining the
Knights. Some have married,
some lost their wife, next of kin
may not be there, some have
moved or changed their phone
number or email or would like to
be contacted by email instead of
by mail. If you have had changes
that may not have been reported
to me, please write and send it to
the PO BOX or email me. If you
call, sometimes I don't get the

spelling correct, so putting it in
writing is best.
Our council supports many good
causes from the money raised
from the raffle. Here is one: 6
year old Madelyn Odegard from
Eau Claire has stage 4 Wilms
Disease. She is going through a 37
course chemo and radiation
treatment. If successful, she will
go to Milwaukee to have the
kidney, where the tumor grew,
removed and then more
treatments. Her mother took a
leave of absence from working 3
nursing related jobs to be with
her. The council gave her a
donation and we have submitted a
request to state for more.
If you want to support Madelyn
more, the friends of Madelyn are
planning a Fund Raising Event on
Saturday, October 25 at the Brick
House on Birch Street. Thank you,
Mark Aebly Financial Secretary.
Our Knight of the Month for
September is Scott Stagliano.
Scott was selected for all the KC
events that he helps cook and also
for his role as president of
Columbus Site that manages the
hall and grounds. Thank you Scott
for all that you do for this council.
Our Family of the Month for
September is the Jeremy and Lisa
Johnson family. Jeremy and Lisa
are members of St James the
Greater Parish in Eau Claire and
have 6 children.
Congratulations to District
Deputy Mark Abley as he is
presented with a check from
General Agent Ed Knolmeyer for
membership recruitment in
District 21 at the September 13,
2014 Diocesan meeting!
Past Grand Knight Tim Carroll
accepts Star Council award on
behalf of Grand Knight Kevin
Friederichs from State Deputy
Ron Faust at Diocesan meeting in
Black River Falls on Sept. 13.
Please note we have reversed the
normal order of our meetings this
