VIDEO CONFERENCING PROCEDURE Cisco Jabber Video Prerequisites Prerequisites for using Cisco Jabber Video The following outlines the technical requirements for Cisco Jabber Video PC Requirements Operating System Processor Memory - RAM Graphics Card Sound Card Windows XP SP2 or later Windows Vista SP1 or later Windows 7 Windows 8 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent or better CPU Windows XP: 512 MB RAM or more Windows 8, Windows 7 or Vista: 2 GB RAM or more OpenGL version 1.3 or OpenGL version 1.2 Any standard sound card (full-duplex, 16 bit or better) Note: On computers with limited processing power and/or memory, Jabber will use a lot of system resources thereby reducing system performance. Mac OS X Requirements Operating System Processor Mac OS X 10.9 Mac OS X 10.8 Mac OS X 10.7 2 GHz Core 2 Duo or better CPU Multimedia Device Requirements Microphone/Speakers Generally, the built-in microphones and speakers on most computers are not ideal for video conferencing. We recommend using a headset for best results, this will prevent echo during the call. Note that some HD cameras also have built-in microphones. Camera Cisco Jabber Video works with most common web cameras. Web cameras can be built-in or external. For best results, we recommend that you use an HD (high definition) web camera. As an example, when connecting a video call at 512Kbps, the actual bandwidth that will be used and required will be approximately 615Kbps or when initiating a video call at 1Mbps, the actual bandwidth required will be approximately 1.2Mbps. As a minimum, we would suggest initiating a video call using Cisco Jabber Video with: a) Download speed of 512Kbps or more; b) Upload speed of 512Kbps or more The broadband download and upload speeds can be checked via websites such as: http://www.speedtest.net/ Note: If the above listed technical requirements are not met, then Cisco Jabber is not a viable video conference option.
