VACANCY BULLETIN LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER [BIOCHEMISTRY/PARASITOLOGY] BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES Post level: 7/8 Ref. 12/322b The Department of Biomedical Sciences, in the Faculty of Science has a permanent position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry/Parasitology at the Arcadia Campus Critical Performance Areas Teaching and Learning in the discipline of Biochemistry or Parasitology. Research and supervision of post-graduate students. Leading role in developing and revising the curriculum in collaboration with industry stakeholders. Ability to attract external funding for research and to be a leader in one of the research niche areas of the department. Liaise with industry and other stakeholders regarding excursions, research and community projects. Curriculum development. Engagement in community projects. Participate in Departmental, Faculty and Institutional Activities. Responsible for administrative tasks relating to the learning programmes of the Department. Minimum Requirements: [SENIOR LECTURER] A relevant Doctoral Degree. A BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry or Para-Clinical Science with specialization in molecular biology. A Qualification in Education will be a strong recommendation. Five (5) years of teaching experience and/or research or industry experience with evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Research experience in Ethno botany will be a strong recommendation. [LECTURER] A relevant Master’s Degree A BSc (Hons) in Zoology or Animal Science and/or B-Tech Degree in Veterinary Technology with specialization in Parasitology. BVSc may be considered.
