CEIv2 Pilot: Utility Partner Application Many thanks for your interest in NEEA’s small manufacturer SEM product pilot. For the purpose of this pilot, NEEA is seeking two utility partners able and willing to support the roll out of the pilot with at least 10-12 end-use customers. To facilitate the selection of the two utility sponsors, please provide us with your answers to application questions listed in the second part of this document no later than February 17th. Pilot Overview For your reference, following is a brief overview of the pilot as well as the expectations of utility sponsors. The primary objectives of the pilot are: Document user experience with the e-learning product Test effectiveness of e-learning product to drive SEM implementation at participant sites Document the full set of resources and technical support needed in addition to the e-learning product to successfully implement energy management at small to medium industrial facilities. Track the implemented and planned energy efficiency projects with or without utility incentives that result from SEM adoption at participant facilities. NEEA is currently finalizing the details of the pilot implementation plan. Notwithstanding these details, the pilot with include the following key elements: Participants will access the e-learning curriculum and supporting documents on a website. The curriculum includes 12 core modules plus 3 support modules to provide context on specific topics, if needed. The curriculum is separated into plan, do, and check modules. NEEA will offer technical support to participants on technical topics such as baselines, monitoring, etc. NEEA is currently finalizing the specific approach for providing these services. NEEA will train and onboard the technical support providers and collaborate with utility sponsors to ensure effective communication protocols are established and observed. NEEA will gather frequent feedback from participants regarding their experience, challenges, and needs. NEEA will communicate these findings to utility sponsors in an ongoing and timely manner. At the end of the pilot, NEEA will collect comprehensive feedback from participants, utility sponsors, and providers of technical support. NEEA will develop a pilot report summarizing the pilot, findings, and recommendations for future changes. NEEA will share a more detailed outline of the pilot plan with the selected utilities in March. The timeline of implementation is anticipated to be April 2012 through December 2012. The actual duration of the pilot may vary depending on how fast end users complete the curriculum. NEEA will look to the sponsoring utilities to provide the following: Recruitment support. NEEA will look to utilities to provide initial target list and contact information and potentially facilitate recruitment conversations and sign up process for the pilot. NEEA will provide support providing characteristics of ideal targets, talking points, informational and sign up materials. If requested by the utility, NEEA will provide knowledgeable staff to participate in the recruitment process. Designate a key contact for pilot duration. NEEA’s pilot team will work with the utility representative to gather ongoing feedback as well as coordinate regarding end user progress and interactions. After launch, we anticipate the involvement of this person to be 1-3 hrs a week, possibly more depending on the utility’s preference of interacting with their participant customers. 1.
