Sydney, 29 Aug 2012 – element14 (formerly Farnell), the first information portal, collaborative community
and electronics store for design engineers and electronics enthusiasts, will present at Electronex 2012 some
of the latest products for applications in medical, test and measurements, and industrial automation;
specialty products like the Arduino™ Leonardo and the Raspberry Pi, and the newly updated version of the
online knowledge tool, the Knode, and the PCB software Cadsoft EAGLE, during 12-13 September 2012 at
the Australian Technology Park in Sydney.
element14 is the offering the Arduino™ Leonardo on a pre-order basis (order
code: 2133071). Available in October, the recently released Arduino™
Leonardo is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega32u4. This new
addition to the Arduino™ family differs from preceding boards, using a single
microcontroller to run sketches and for USB communication with a connected
computer – eliminating the need for a secondary processor. This allows the
Arduino™ Leonardo to appear to a connected computer as a mouse and
keyboard, in addition to a virtual (CDC) serial / COM port. Combining these
two functions onto a single processor enables more flexibility, simplifies the
design and helps lower the cost.
The Raspberry Pi Eco-System will also be displayed and visitors will be able to have hands-on experience of
what this product can deliver. Visitors can also expect to find industrial, bench-top, maintenance and
development tools from world-leading suppliers such as Agilent, Analog Devices, Fluke, Lumex, Microchip,
Tektronix and Tenma.
Hakko will be showcasing their popular FM206 3-in-1 Rework station, a multistation that enables soldering, desoldering, and SMD rework. The product
demonstration, conducted daily throughout the exhibition, will highlight the different
functions of the FM206.

CadSoft EAGLE Version 6 focuses on flexibility and enabling users to save time by optimising and
integrating new features such as BGA escape routing, differential pair routing, automatic meanders and
undo/redo logs. Additionally this latest software provides automatic layout dimension, assembly variants, cut
out polygons, and the design reuse feature to merge board/schematic pairs using the PASTE function with
full consistency, and demonstrations of this award-winning software will be showcased at element14’s booth.
The Knode on element14 is the only online resource for embedded and PCB design engineers who want to
quickly find the best products and solutions to complete a project without needing to search at multiple
supplier sites, or product-oriented distribution sites. The Knode connects engineers with the latest technical
