We are “PuRRR-fect” at Edgewood For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be an elementary school educator. I often reflect back on how my fifth grade teacher changed my life. I was amazed at her passion and perseverance to make us all better students. Through my educational experience, the past seventeen years serving as a classroom teacher, lead teacher, curriculum implementation specialist, and principal, my excitement and love for school and this district has grown substantially. I know, without hesitation, that I made the right choice in choosing to serve in the District of Muskegon Heights. It is my pleasure to extend a warm and friendly welcome to you as we move forward this school year. Many great accomplishments have already begun with our volunteers, including: The Fall Garden Program, Library, Misty the dog from Ruff Readers, Ms. Allison, and the Muskegon Lumberjacks Reading program. We are eagerly anticipating our mentors and our new program Project Focus to begin. Thank you to all who attended our, “Passport to Success” Open House on September 10th, it was a huge success. October will be a busy month as we look forward to our Fall “Red Carpet Festival”, which will take place on October 1st, COUNT DAY, our fire prevention program and Parent-Teacher conferences. Thank You for your continued support and patience as we work to make this the best year yet at Edgewood Elementary. Stacey M.
