Course Checklist Examining Issues in Sacred Music When you register for a course in the Sacred Music Sequence, you are immediately mailed a package full of different forms and papers including a course syllabus, course assignments, exams, and supplemental materials depending on the course. This can be very overwhelming at first. In order to make the process easier for you, each course for which you register in the Sacred Music Sequence will have a checklist in it. This checklist will list all the items that are included in your course pack. It will also list all the requirements that you must complete, and the order in which you must complete them, in order to finish the course successfully. Finally, each checklist will also include a list of items that you will need for the course, but which are not included in the course pack. It is our hope that this single form will serve as a guide to you as you work your way through the varying demands of each course in the Sacred Music Sequence. Simply work your way through the list, and you will be able to complete the course successfully without missing any of the requirements. Items in this course pack: □ Course syllabus □ Course assignments □ Course checklist □ Sacred Music Sequence Style Sheet What you need to do to complete this course: □ Register for the course and pay tuition □ Receive course pack □ Complete, submit, and receive passing grades (minimum of 80%, or B- level) on the written assignments as described in the syllabus Helpful hints: Don’t skimp on your writing. You have all the time you need to ponder, systematize, and articulate your thoughts on these issues, and this probably isn’t the first time you’ve had to consider them, especially if you’ve already taken the Philosophy of Music course in the Sacred Music Sequence. Be as thorough as you can for each writing assignment. Support your positions with Scripture, your textbooks from previous courses, your own experience, and your written philosophy of music and ministry.
